A Filipina housewife contracted HIV/AIDS through her husband, a former OFW who recently died from the virus.

Gina was very excited when her husband is finally going home after two years of working overseas. When he finally arrived , he was rushed to the hospital where he was diagnosed to be HIV positive and it was too late for him. Her husband died.
“Grabe ‘yung excitement ko nang malaman kong malapit na siyang bumalik ng Pilipinas. Then one time, may tumawag sa aking isinugod sa hospital ang mister ko. Ipinamalita sa akin ng Doctor na may AIDS ang asawa ko,” Gina said in her letter.
Her dilemma does not end there. She, too, was diagnosed positive of the virus. She has it. And she got it from her husband's infidelity. Infidelity that caused her husbands life, and hers, too. She added that for a time she was contemplating on whether to sympathize or feel angry towards her sick husband, who eventually died.
