We are like Parker pens

Do you know the story of a Parker Pen?

Why it is very expensive and the most famous pen gifts?

From the noblest metal to the most durable one, it uses brass plated gold, silver, platinum as pen body, every Parker pen is crafted meticulously and differently, ensuring quality.

Just making the nib alone will last one week.

Every prototype is tested 200,000 times,

even testing by hands, placing it in the pocket of the shirt several thousand times,

placing it under the freezing temperatures,

the hottest oven, and many other quality test.

We are like Parker pens, made individually and especially by God, tested, tried, and challenged in life to come out the better, or the best.

We are not cheap experiments, in the laboratory of life.

We have eternal destiny, don't lose sight of the greatness and eternal happiness

ahead over a little or simple worries and challenges here on earth.

75 Flights of Stairs

Bill, Jim, and Scott were at a convention together and were sharing a large suite on the top of a 75 story sky scraper.

After a long day of meetings they were shocked to hear that the elevators in their hotel were broken and they would have to climb 75 flights of stairs to get to their room.

Bill said to Jim and Scott, let's break the monotony of this unpleasant task by concentrating on something interesting.

I'll tell jokes for 25 flights, and Jim can sing songs for 25 flights, and Scott can tell sad stories the rest of the way.

At the 26th floor Bill stopped telling jokes and Jim began to sing. At the 51st floor Jim stopped singing and Scott began to tell sad stories.

"I will tell my saddest story first," he said. "I left the room key in the car!"

I am assigned to give a talk about dealing with life's challenges.

The story above is part of my talk that I will deliver on Friday.

Please bookmark our new website which we will be moving there soon.

Amazing World of Palm, Dubai

Three times the innovation, Three times the ingenuity, Three times the ambition. A series of destinations that are simply extraordinary. The Palm Islands, namely Jebel Ali, Jumairah, and Palm Deira are artificial islands in Dubai, United Arab Emirates on which major commercial and residential infrastructure will be constructed.

The islands are the largest land reclamation projects in the world and will result in the world's largest artificial islands. The first two islands will comprise approximately 100 million cubic meters of rock and sand. Palm Deira will be composed of approximately 1 billion cubic meters of rock and sand. All materials will be quarried in the UAE. Between the three islands there will be over 100 luxury hotels, exclusive residential beach side villas and apartments, marinas, water theme parks, restaurants, shopping malls, sports facilities and health spas.

It has been said that the following celebrities and world reknown individuals purchased or reserved a house at a PALM ISLAND subdivision in Dubai, costing 48M USD each.

David Beckham, Michael Jackson, Bill Gates, Whitney Houston, Nicholas Cage, Steven Spielberg, Roger Moore, Clint Eastwood, Sultan Najori Hamten of KSA, Bill Clinton, Pete Sampras, Michael Jordan, Tina Turner, Will Smith, Beth Midler, Jet-Li, Patrick Ewing, Robin Williams, Damon Sunderland, Don King, Phil Jackson, Shania Twain, George Bush, Oscar DelaHoya, Axel Rose, Demi Moore & Bruce Willis athough this could only be a gossip, but we don't know, this people have the money enough to buy one.

Click the Photos to see larger/original view.

The Al Burj will be the centerpiece of the Dubai Waterfront. Once completed it will take over the title of the tallest structure in the world from the Burj Dubai. Recently it was announced that the final height of this tower will be 1200 meters. That would make it more than 30% taller than the Burj Dubai and three times as tall as the Empire State Building. Some of the other towers are Burj Al Arab Hotel, and Burj Al Alam, and the Trump International Tower in Palm Palmeira, all in Dubai.

See some of the amazing photos we gathered about the Palm and some of Dubai's photos . Click each photos to view the larger size.

Ah, does anyone hear about the phrase, "large and spacious building"?

Well, the building are large and towering, but I think it is not spacious.

The LDS Church is recognized in Dubai, there's a meetinghouse/chapel there, although it is not in one of those Palm Islands (lol) and it has been rumored that a temple will soon be build.

Eye Care for PC/LAPTOP USERS

This information is sure to help PC users very much.

My friend email this tips to me.

During a recent visit to an optician, one of his friends was told of an
exercise for the eyes by a specialist doctor that his friend termed as

20-20-20
."

It is apt for all of us, who spend long hours at our desks or laptop,
looking at the computer screen.

I thank him for sharing this 20-20-20 tips.

Step I :-

After every 20 minutes of looking into the computer screen, turn your
head and try to look at any object placed at least 20 feet away. This
changes the focal length of your eyes, a must-do for the tired eyes.

Step II :-

Try and blink your eyes for 20 times in succession, to moisten them.

Step III :-

Time permitting, one should walk 20 paces after every 20 minutes
of sitting in one particular posture. It helps blood circulation for the entire body.

Send this among your friends if you care for them and their eyes. They say that your eyes are the mirror of your soul, so do take care of them, they are priceless...

Otherwise our eye would be like this...

Have a great eye day!

MICHAEL PHELPS, American Living Legend

"I think that everything is possible as long as you put your mind to it and you put the work and time into it. I think your mind really controls everything."
– Michael Phelps

Today, Americans have a reason to celebrate, your son made a history in all the world. An Aquaman in the making, the living dolphin, or a flipper. We are in awe, one-of-a-kind, second-to-none! Cheers!
-Thoughtskoto

"At the age of 23, it took Michael Phelps just five days in Beijing to surpass American track star Carl Lewis, American swimmer Mark Spitz, Soviet gymnast Larysa Latynina and Finnish runner Paavo Nurmi to become the winningest Olympian in history. "

- JL Kent, ABC News

"American swimmer Michael Phelps claimed his eighth gold medal at the Beijing Olympics on Sunday to become the most prolific athlete in one Olympic Games and also the most successful athlete with 14 golds in the Olympic history."

- ChinaView

"Phelps wins in a world record of 1:42.96 seconds, beating the rest of the field by nearly 2 seconds. He ties Mark Spitz and Carl Lewis among the winningest Olympians with his ninth career gold. “The Olympics have been around for so many years, that’s a pretty amazing accomplishment,” he says. 200 butterfly

Phelps swims into history as the winningest Olympian ever, even though a problem with his goggles causes them to fill with water. Second at the first flip, he pushes it into another gear to finish in 1:52.03, breaking his mark of 1:52.09 from the 2007 worlds. “Wow, greatest Olympian of all time,” he says. “It’s a pretty cool title.” 800 freestyle relay"

- Yahoo Sports

"Phelps is now one of a kind, breaking Mark Spitz’s record of seven gold medals in swimming in Munich in 1972. No other Olympian has ever won eight, or seven, in a single Games. He has 14 career gold medals, also a record.

Phelps, the tall man from Baltimore, did it with some theatrics in earlier races, including a desperate extra lunge in the 100 butterfly final Saturday, one of the great finishes in any Olympic event ever, given the stakes."

- George Vecsey, The New York Times

There is a Monster Inside

This post goes to all women who have met her, the monster I am talking about.

I am not the only one who called her 'a monster', other people too. *

I hate her, perhaps all of you who met her do too. My wife is battling and winning against her.

This monster will make you feel sad, blue, unhappy, miserable, or down in the dumps. Most mothers met her one time, one way or another. It can make your mood swing 360 degrees, like a feeling of loss, anger or frustration interfering with every happy day for an extended time. She attacks in a mild way, moderate or severe.

Tiredness, a problem in sleeping, a strong emotional reactions, and changes in body weight are some of her symptoms.

If you delivered a lovely and beautiful baby, one that can't be bought with money, and have the following symptoms, you are dealing with this monster.

  • Feeling restless or irritable
  • Feeling sad, hopeless, and overwhelmed
  • Crying a lot
  • Having no energy or motivation
  • Eating too little or too much
  • Sleeping too little or too much
  • Trouble focusing, remembering, or making decisions
  • Feeling worthless and guilty
  • Loss of interest or pleasure in activities
  • Withdrawal from friends and family
  • Having headaches, chest pains, heart palpitations (the heart beating fast and feeling like it is skipping beats), or hyperventilation (fast and shallow breathing)

After pregnancy, signs of depression may also include being afraid of hurting the baby or oneself and not having any interest in the baby. Postpartum depression often affects a woman’s well-being and keeps her from functioning well for a period of time.

All children deserve the chance to have a healthy mom. All moms deserve the chance to enjoy their life and their children. Don’t suffer alone.

Last night, at 2am midnight, I was awaken by a loud, pitiful cry by the very lovely woman who bore my pretty girl. I have to hug her, cry with her, and cuddle the baby who too was crying because her Mom cries desperately. PPD, or Post partum depression, along with her hair falling is the monster my wife and I are fighting. She cannot rob us of our happiness and joy, and the wonderful dreams we have of our flourishing family and getting stronger abd stronger relationship.

Sometimes in life we get arrested with afflictions and infirmities, diseases and sickness that makes us slow and weak, but with the wonder healing power of love, unfailing and constant, and faith in Him who knows us all, who loves us all and who care for us more than anyone in this world, there is hope, solid, true, and never waning...

If you have met this monster before, please leave us a comment and suggest what we can do to relieve my dear wife. I honestly plead for your help.

Watch Beijing Olympic via Internet

How ironic that China, the leading country in imitation, piracy, low quality goods, and cheap labor fees, managed to block the internet coverage of the Beijing Olympics.

I think China by hiding herself, fails to expose her greatness, cultural beauty and great places. I think China fails to manage the great opportunity she was bestowed to be appreciated, and to be admired. Nevertheless we managed to gather some of the site where you can read and see what's going on there during the Summer Olympics.

Enjoy!

Why Gmail, Why?

I was complaining the other day how I have the hard time signing in my Blogger account. Today I have a difficult hours accessing my Gmail account. Is it the end of days?

I went over Gmail Blog and here's what they posted. Apparently it's not just me all alone here in Saudi Arabia experiencing the same thing, but to the rest of the world.

We feel your pain, and we're sorry

Monday, August 11, 2008 6:05 PM

Many of you had trouble accessing Gmail for a couple of hours this afternoon, and we're really sorry. The issue was caused by a temporary outage in our contacts system that was preventing Gmail from loading properly. Everything should be back to normal by the time you read this.

We heard loud and clear today how much people care about their Gmail accounts. We followed all the emails to our support team and user group, we fielded phone calls from Google Apps customers and friends, and we saw the many Twitter posts. (We also heard from plenty of Googlers, who use Gmail for company email.) We never take for granted the commitment we've made to running an email service that you can count on.

We've identified the source of this issue and fixed it. In addition, as with all issues that affect Gmail and our other services, we're conducting a full review of what went wrong and moving quickly to update our internal systems and procedures accordingly. We don't usually post about problems like this on our blog, but we wanted to make an exception in this case since so many people were impacted. In general, though, if you spot a problem with your Gmail account, please visit the Gmail Help Center and user group, where the Gmail Guides are your fastest source of updates.

Again, we're sorry.

I hope this will be fix the soonest possible time. This is the first time I have a problem accessing my account. Remember my post about Gmail Vs Ymail?

Three Essential Things In Life (That I Want)

Three Essential Things I want in Life.

There are things in life, seemingly small and simple but truly essential. There are things we sometimes take for granted or overlooked. Things we truly need to make the most of our lives. Here is my three essential things that I want in life, assuming I am already rich. (Nyahaha!)

I want good health.

This is the most simple things we can ask, and the most precious asset we ever have, and yet it is also the most neglected aspect of our lives. People eat and eat and eat like all the foods will run out tomorrow. We fed our bodies with substances that we know to be harmful and dangerous. I was still very young when I memorize the line "Health is wealth". How true that is. People work like there's no tomorrow to earn and save so much money, wearing their bodies out, and when sickness and diseases strikes, they spend all their savings trying to restore their health. To save is good, but to be healthy with savings is even more better.

They said that what comes in, will come out. Unfortunately what we have taken in our bodies will not all come out the same, some waste will come out, some will stay inside to nourish or damage the body.

We cannot have the other two unless we don't have good health. It is very central part of our lives, it is very central to our peace of mind and happiness.

Start by exercising, eating right, and yes, take sometime to rest and get enough sleep.
(Am I talking to myself? hehe)

I want Peace of Mind

Peace of mind is essential in our lives. Good health will give you the peace and worry-free sleep in the night, as well as being free with debt. The greater your peace of mind, the more relaxed and positive you are, the less stress you suffer, the better is your overall health. You see it is almost interrelated.

The more peaceful your mind is, the better are your relationships, the more optimistic, friendly and confident you are with everyone in your life. When you feel good about yourself on the inside, you do your work better and take more pride in it. You are a better manager or employee. And the greater your overall peace of mind, the more likely you are to earn a good living, save regularly for the future and ultimately achieve financial independence.

You cannot have peace of mind if you injure or hurt others. The memory will haunt you no matter how small and trivial they maybe. You cannot have peace of mind if you lie or is keeping a lie within you. Others can, maybe, but I can't and any God-fearing person know this.

You cannot have peace of mind if you live a borrowed life, credits beyond your income, and pride and vanity without regards. Simple living with a healthy body and a peaceful mind, will give you the third and last essential part that I want to have in life.

I want happiness.

We all do. We all want to live life with happiness and joy. Bickering and disagreement are normal, a few of them makes life meaningful and sweeter.

7 Habits of Really Effective Shopper

Mrs. Thoughtskoto over Pink, Purple and Anything has this interesting post about shopping tips.

1. If you really want to save money for your grocery, you have to be familiar and aware how prices of products ranges from different grocery stores or super markets.

2. Be smart and consider your health, you've got to know what's in the food you are taking/eating.

3. Shopping for clothes, shoes and accessories gives me a chance to tour the entire mall or malls in the area.

4. Don't be an impulse buyer. Not all things on sale are cheap, some stores put mark up on prices before going on sale, and it doesn't make the price low.

5. Take time to ask the sales person about the product. If its an electronic, know where it was made, is the spare parts available in case you need it?

6. Brands does matter. Sometimes it can make your item expensive, but some brands are consumer tested and the quality is superb compared to other brands.

7. Sometimes it really takes more than one- store- visit to decide which one to buy, specially if you are buying something that costs a lot of money.

You should read the whole thing here, I just copied the first sentences. She has very wonderful posting about facial, foot spa, and wide variety of subjects about motherhood and stay at home mom's. Some pink, some purple, and yes, anything and everything!

If you like her post, please leave her a comment. She will jump in happiness if you do! Promise!

HABITS that BOSSES LOVES

Margaret Steen of Yahoo HotJobs shared this career tips to all employees out there. Every boss wants employees who do their jobs well. But even among highly competent employees, there are distinctions. Here are 10 tips for making sure you're on the boss's A-list:

1. Communicate, communicate, communicate. Especially at the beginning of your relationship -- that is, when either you or the boss is new to the job -- err on the side of giving your boss too much information and asking too many questions.

2. Acknowledge what the boss says. Bosses appreciate "responsive listening,"...When your boss asks you to do something or suggests ways for you to improve your work, let her know you heard.

3. Collaborate. When your boss has a new idea, respond to it in a constructive way instead of throwing up roadblocks.

4. Build relationships. You'll make your boss look good if you establish a good rapport with your department's customers, whether they're inside the company or outside. Bring back what you learn -- about ways to offer better customer service, for example -- to your boss. This is also helpful for your own career development.

5. Understand how you fit in. Is your boss detail-oriented, or someone who keeps his head in the clouds? His personality is important. Equally important is understanding what your boss wants in an employee. It may be, for example, that a boss who is detail-oriented will expect his employees to be as well. But a boss who has no time for details may actually appreciate an employee who does.

6. Learn the boss's pet peeves. If your manager has said repeatedly that she hates being interrupted first thing in the morning, don't run to her office to give her a project update when you first get in.

7. Anticipate the boss's needs. Once you have worked with your boss for a while, you should be able to guess what information he will want before approving your purchase order, for example.

8. Think one level up. You still need to do your own job, of course. But when managers consider who deserves a promotion, they look for people who understand the issues that their bosses face.

9. Open yourself to new ways of doing things. When your boss comes to you with a new idea, don't simply dismiss it. If you don't think it will work, offer to discuss it further in "a mature, responsible, adult-like way,".

10. Be engaged in your work. Arguing with your boss over every request is not a good strategy, but neither is simply shrugging your shoulders and agreeing with everything your boss says. "The manager would like to see an engaged individual," Beasley says. That means both showing enthusiasm for your work and speaking up when you see room for improvement.

The rest here.
