Filipina Jailed for 5 years With AED 20,000 Fine For Supplying Drugs To Her Boyfriend : Drug Cases Involving OFWs Rising

A Filipina  in the UAE has been arrested for supplying prohibited drugs to her boyfriend and has been convicted to be jailed for five years and pay AED 20,000. After serving her jail term, the 29 -year-old Filipina will be deported According to Gulf News’ Bassam Za’za, legal and court correspondent report, the Dubai Court of First Instance found the 29-year-old jobless Filipina guilty of possessing 0.8 gram of methamphetamine, consuming amphetamine and methamphetamine, and enabling her boyfriend to use illegal drugs.  The Filipina and her boyfriend was arrested on May at the former's flat by Dubai authorities, recovered small quantities of methamphetamine hidden on a case of eyewear.  The Filipina admitted the crime when she appeared befor the court on august 15 while her boyfriend is still undergoing trial before the Dubai misdemeanor court.
