The closure of the company he was working for abroad forced an OFW to go back home to the Philippines. Uncertain on how he can have a sufficient income, he started making furniture out of old rubber tires. Magno Gilbuelafrom Lapu-lapu City, Cebu, a former OFW, got the idea when one time his motorcycle had a flat tire. He went to a vulcanizing shop and as he was waiting for the vulcanizing job to finish, he looked for something to sit on, he found a pile of old tires and sat on it. That's when he realized that rubber tires are comfortable to sit on. He started doing it as a hobby, watching videos on how to do it and then his hobby became a business that gives him a sustainable income. In three months, he started his own business out of old rubber tires into functional furnitures which sells at P500 to P3,000.
According to Magno, as he makes profit out of these junks, his business can also help preserve the environment through recycling and transforming these old tires into something useful.
He named his business "MagzWheel Furniture."

The popularity of rubber furniture made from junk rubber tires is also known in other countries such as Thailand and even New Zealand.
In Tauranga, New Zealand, there is a furniture show showcasing recycled tires made to be functional again by making useful furniture out of it. Not only that they can solve the growing number of junks coming from thousands of vehicles, the furniture made from discarded tires is so durable and can probably last a lifetime.
