2 DH in the Middle East, asking help due to unbearable abuse

Maltreatment and abuse are number 1 problem of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) particularly of the Domestic Helpers or Household Helpers, especially in the Middle East.  Concerns about physical abuse are not new but in spite of this, still, hundreds of domestic workers are seeking work overseas to provide the need of the family way back home.  In Saudi Arabia, a domestic helper is calling for immediate help in her situation in the hands of her employer.

Maltreatment and abuse are number 1 problem of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) particularly of the Domestic Helpers or Household Helpers, especially in the Middle East.

Concerns about physical abuse are not new but in spite of this, still, hundreds of domestic workers are seeking work overseas to provide the need of the family way back home.

In Saudi Arabia, a domestic helper is calling for immediate help in her situation in the hands of her employer.



In her message to Bombo Radyo Koronadal, Alicia Gandol Simpal, an OFW from the town  of Tupi in South Cotabato said, that she is working as a DH in Alhasa, Al Salmiya in Kingdom of Saudi Arabia and now suffering from illness.

In the news, she is begging from her employer to allow her to return in the Philippines to seek for proper medical treatment.

But instead of allowing her to leave, allegedly her employer experimented her and make her take different kinds of drugs.

Aside from this, her employer injected drugs on her and every time she refused, she is being beaten.

Currently, the OFW said, she is very thin and frail due to maltreatment.

On the other hand, another OFW suffers maltreatment in Oman. (Please refer to the video on the top)

Flordelisa Ligas Concon shows her bruises after the sons of her employer beaten her with shoes and slapped her.

Condon said, her employer are old and cannot understand English and only speak Arabic. There's an instance she said that she made a mistake and the son of her employer slapped her.

Not contented, she is also being beaten with a shoes that resulted her bruises in the arms.

According to Concon, she repeatedly calling her agency to asked for help but received no avail that is why she is asking help from Raffy Tulfo.

Meanwhile, Lani Destajo of Mirben International Manpower Services Inc said that they already informed their counterpart in Oman regarding the case of Concon, right after the complaint has been received.
