Pres Duterte to Build Hospital for OFWs in the Middle East

Pres. Duterte arrived this Monday morning fresh from his 'most successful trip ever' and announced the governments plan to build a hospital depending on the permission if granted by the Middle East country leaders. The OFW hospital will serve the OFWs and distress or stranded OFWs in the Middle East region.

In the video above, an OFW expressed her appreciation for the current presidents, citing the president has helped them a lot. Part of the requests of this OFW is a hospital for those stranded OFWs. Undocumented OFWs in the Middle East are not accepted to any hospital whether private of public because of lack of legal documentation.

According to the President, not all OFWs in the Middle East can avail free hospitalization. He added, there are retired and distressed OFWs who needed immediate medical attention before they can be repatriated. His promise is to look for money to build a hospital for stranded OFWs with a hope that the Middle East government will allow such.

In Saudi Arabia, there are nurses and doctors who conducts medical mission from time to time for the undocumented Filipinos. But seeking admission from any hospital is almost impossible as legal documentation needed to be presented at hospital counters both private or public. Hospitalization cost is also expensive because they no longer have health care insurance.

In his speech, the President said that during his visit  Saudi, Bahrain and Qatar were more than willing to help the Filipinos.
