The Czech Republic, To Hire 1,000 Filipino Workers

Another venue for Filipinos who want to work abroad. There are 1,000 job openings for qualified Filipinos in the Czech Republic. The approval of jobs is part of the Czech's three-country expansion for foreign workers.

Philippine Embassy Charge d’affaires Jed Dayang happily announced that approval was personally relayed to him by Czech Prime Minister Andrej Babiš during a diplomatic event in Prague.

The Czech government is looking for employees with 1,000 job opening for the Philippines, 1,000 jobs for Mongolia and up to 10,000 for Ukraine which is their main source of agricultural workers.

As of now, the Czech government has yet to release the details of the latest labor policy but reportedly the country is interested to hire Filipino workers for healthcare services.

Dayang also congratulated the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and the Filipino community in Prague. He describes the Filipino workers there as “highly valued for their good work, good character, and for integrating well into Czech society.”

There are 1,005 OFWs in the Czech Republic as of now working as skilled workers, electronic technicians, massage therapist, English teachers and household service workers.

And because of worker's shortage, they are intended to hire Filipino workers for their local employment or local jobs.

The Czech Republic is a landlocked country in Central Europe. The country is bordered by Germany to the west, Austria to the south, Slovakia to the east and Poland to the north. According to the BBC, it has 10.6 million population and the major religion is Christianity.

P100K to P400K Salary For OFWs To Work in India and China

Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) may work in two more countries as the Philippine government is studying the potential deployment of Filipino workers in India and China.

According to the Philippine Embassy, there are 3,000 Filipinos living in India and OFWs there are earning with an average monthly salary of P100,000 to P400,000.

They are working as managers and hold a key and sensitive position in Information Technology Industry.

One of them is AJ Pantaleon, a consultant at Hindware for 10 years now. He is also the president of Filipino in India Community. According to Pantaleon, the economy of India is booming and they are in need of skilled workers.

In spite of earning big salaries, OFWs in India is facing difficulties in renewing their visas.

Presidential Spokesperson Harry Roque said Philippine authorities will study the possibility of improving opportunities for OFWs there.

On the other hand, President Rodrigo Duterte said he may reach out to China if foreign employers continue to abuse overseas Filipino workers (OFWs).

This was after Duterte said he would ban OFWs in Kuwait if employers there do not treat Filipinos "with dignity."

Last January 20 the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) suspends deployment of OFWs to Kuwait as authorities investigate the death of seven OFWs in the Gulf state.
