One Month Bonus For Government Employees In UAE Before Eid Al Fitr

All government employees and retirees will be given a bonus equivalent to one month’s basic salary in celebration of the 100th birth anniversary of the UAE’s founding father, the late Shaikh Zayed bin Sultan Al Nahyan, on May 6.

The Dh1.6 billion worth of payment will be made before Eid Al Fitr as announced on Saturday.

The President, His Highness Sheikh Khalifa bin Zayed Al Nahyan, ordered the payment to all serving and retired government employees, civilians and military, as well as beneficiaries of social welfare services.

Dubai also ordered to give a bonus for all government employees.

On top of this, His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has instructed the payment of bonuses to be released before Eid al-Fitr.  The UAE government has reportedly earmarked Dh1.6 billion to fund the bonuses, including one-month basic salary, with Dh50,000 as maximum and Dh5,000 as a minimum.  Retirees get to take home a minimum bonus of Dh10,000 up to Dh50,000. “Sheikh Zayed was the symbol of giving during his lifetime and even after his death. Today, 100 years have passed since the birth of Sheikh Zayed, and the UAE will remain strong and stable for hundreds of years because of him,” the President said.

In accordance with the President’s order, His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai also declared a salary bonus to be given for all government employees in Dubai as well.

His Highness Sheikh Mohamed bin Zayed Al Nahyan, Crown Prince of Abu Dhabi and Deputy Supreme Commander of the UAE Armed Forces, and Chairman of the Abu Dhabi Executive Council has instructed that the payment of bonuses be released before Eid al-Fitr.

The UAE government has reportedly allocated AED1.6 billion to fund the bonuses, equivalent to one-month basic salary, with AED50,000 as maximum and AED5,000 as a minimum.

Retirees will get a minimum bonus of Dh10,000 up to Dh50,000.
