Mary Jane Maluya was looking for a part time job to sustain her studies, so she took chances on those who are giving flyers offering jobs. The man even said that she might qualify because she is a working student.
She was then instructed by the said man to go in a recruitment office in Cubao for requirements. To her surprise, the man asked her to pay P100.
When she reached the recruitment office in Cubao, she saw a number of people complaining. She was convinced furthermore that it is a bogus recruitment office when she found out that you need to pay in every step of the application.
According to the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE), charging anything to the applicant in order to be hired is not normal.
Police authorities also warn the public regarding this fraudulent activities. They urge the public to press charges to the bogus recruiters in such cases.
