Pictured above is a map created by Bank of America Merrill Lynch (BAML)based on data from the Department of Homeland Security last 2015 showing the countries that supply the most immigrants to each US state when Mexico is excluded from the count. Asian countries, like China, India, and the Philippines, are common countries leading in number of immigrants on most states.
The states with the highest immigrant population are as follows:
1. California
2. New York
3. Texas
4. Florida
The Philippines also leads in supplying immigrants to the following states:
Alaska
California
Nevada
Wyoming
New Mexico
West Virginia
United States, among other western countries, is a target of many Filipinos when it comes to immigration. Unlike Middle Eastern countries, immigrant workers here gets the chance to settle permanently, acquire green card or even American citizenship.
