OFW Husband Driven-out of His Own House By His Wife and Mom-in-law For Being "Useless"



An OFW who has been home just recently sought the help of Mr. Raffy Tulfo about his wife and mother-in-law who casted him out of his own house saying that he is useless for not having a job and not being able to give money. Nonilo Naingue cries as he was narrating his story to Mr. Raffy Tulfo. He said he was working as ang OFW in Saudi Arabia and he was sending money to her wife regularly. But when he came home and become jobless, his wife and his mother-in-law considered him useless, even expelled him in his own house. He spent nights on the streets. The program contacted his wife Jonalyn on the phone and made her talk to Nonito. She said that Nonito could not give her any money especially when their child was sick and so she told him to leave the house. Nonito admitted it but he said he doesn't have any money to give anymore because when he came home from abroad, he already gave all of his savings to her wife amounting to P80,000. Mr. Tulfo asked Jonalyn as to the whereabouts of the said money but Jonalyn said that They used the money for the christening of their child and the only money left was P20,000. Nonito could not apply to work overseas again because her wife destroyed all of his documents. Jonalyn said that on their first quarrel, she torn all of his papers into pieces and they are now all gone. Mr. raffy Tulfo said that Nonito ha done nothing wrong and he did good by providing everything his family needs while abroad by sending remittance regularly, but it's too unfortunate that his wife has just thrown him like a worn and dirty rags now that he can no longer give them money. Nonito also said that the last time he attempted to enter his own house, he was nearly stabbed by his wife with a knife. Mr. Tulfo, with his program extended help to Nonito. from his own pocket, Mr. Tulfo gave him P1,500 and told his staff to accompany him in getting his belongings to his house. He was also assisted to the Municipal Livelihood Training Center to produce certificates and documents he needed to be able to work again. Nonito Naingue expresses his deep gratitude to Mr. Raffy Tulfo and his program for the help he received. Now from being dubbed as "useless" by her own wife, he can now start over with his life.

President Rodrigo Roa Duterte has placed entire Mindanao under Martial Law as he vowed to end terrorism in the area from the recent attack by the so-called Isis-inspired Maute group in Marawi City. The terrorist group started occupying Marawi City on May 23, setting buildings on fire, holding captives and killing a number of civilians. The declaration of Martial Law was made through Presidential Spokesperson Ernesto Abella while the President was in Moscow. Abella said on Tuesday, "(Senior Deputy Executive Secretary Menardo Guevarra) has clarified that this was possible on the grounds of existence of rebellion because of what is happening in Mindanao based on Article 7, Section 18 of the Constitution. This is good for 60 days." Defense Secretary Delfin Lorenzana said that although the armed conflict only happens in Marawi City, there are also security issues happening in the nearby areas thus the President declares Martial Law for the entire Mindanao. Lorenzana said, it includes control of movement, searches and arrest of detained people for suspension of writ of habeas corpus. Suspension of the writ of habeas corpus means they can do arrests even in the absence of warrant to the suspects. The Philippine National Police has released guidelines to be followed during the implementation of Martial Law in the entire Mindanao. However, President duterte said he will not allow abuses during the Martial Law. He reiterated that his mandate as a president of the republic is to protect and to defend the country. He also said that he will declare curfew in certain areas like Lanao del Sur, Lanao Del Norte, Maguindanao, Sultan Kudarat, North Cotabato and Zamboanga to protect the civilians. As private citizens without doing anything illegal, we should not fear the martial law for it is being implemented  for our own protection. 

Here are some pieces of advice you might consider:

1. Be a law abiding citizen. Respect the  authorities and follow directions and orders.
2. Have a survival kit stocked with food, medicine, water and other necessities.
3. Make yourself  extra aware of what is happening around you. A transistor radio will be handy to keep you updated.
4. If you see any suspicious people near you, call 911.
5. Do not panic as your government is doing anything within their means to protect our sovereignty.
6.PRAY! It is the best weapon we could ever have during these situation.

In the light of the ransomware attack just recently and other phishing attacks on different websites, a big question was raised as to the safety of public informations provided in an unsecured government website such as that of the DFA Passport appointment system. As of this writing, the government site www.passport.gov.ph which ask for the private informations of the citizens who apply for passport appointment might be vulnerable to attacks. As for the said government website under the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA), passport.gov.ph is visited mostly by Filipinos for information on passport requirements, appointments, and application, providing their private personal informations on the site. On any given website, security is vital especially when it is a website owned by the government. hackers are so innovative and resourceful these days that they even penetrated a huge website just recently. If you try to access www.passport.gov.ph, it will direct you to a page that says your connection is not private, however, clicking "advanced" on thae page reveals that the security of the site has expired explaining the unsecure prompt. If not addressed accordingly, the data of millions that visits this site everyday might be at risk of identity theft and maybe much worse. {INSERT ALL PARAGRAPHS HERE A massive attack on Google hit millions of Gmail users after receiving an email which instructs the user to click on a document. Explosions at an Ariana Grande concert in Manchester, England caused a "number of confirmed fatalities and others injured," police said late Monday. "Two loud bangs" were reported at approximately 10:45 p.m., just after the concert had finished. The cause of the blasts was not immediately confirmed. LTO Chief Ed Galvante said, LTO started the renewal of driver's license with a validity of 5 years since last year but due to the delay of the supply of the plastic cards, they are only able to issue receipts. The LTO is optimistic that the plastic cards will be available on the said month. Meanwhile, the LTO Chief has uttered support to the program of the Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) which is the establishment of the Driver's Academy which will begin this month Public Utility Drivers will be required to attend the one to two days classes. At the academy, they will learn the traffic rules and regulations, LTFRB policies, and they will also be taught on how to avoid road rage. Grab and Uber drivers will also be required to undergo the same training. LTFRB board member Aileen Lizada said that they will conduct an exam after the training and if the drivers passed, they will be given an ID Card. The list of the passers will be then listed to their database. The operators will be able to check the status of the drivers they are hiring. In case the employer objected, the employee can lodge a complaint with the Exit Permit Grievances Committee which will take a decision within three working days. Change job before or after contract , complete freedom Expatriate worker can change his job before the end of his work contract with or without the consent of his employer, if the contract period ended or after five years if the contract is open ended. With approval from the competent authority, the worker also can change his job if the employer died or the company vanished for any reason. Three months for RP process The employer must process the RP of his employees within 90 days from the date of his entry to the country. Expat must leave within 90 days of visa expiry The employer must return the travel document (passport) to the employee after finishing the RP formalities unless the employee makes a written request to keep it with the employer. The employer must report to the authorities concerned within 24 hours if the worker left his job, refused to leave the country after cancellation of his RP, passed three months since its expiry or his visit visa ended. If the visa or residency permit becomes invalid the expat needs to leave the country within 90 days from the date of its expiry. The expat must not violate terms and the purpose for which he/she has been granted the residency permit and should not work with another employer without permission of his original employer. Working overseas has its toll.
