STEP 1: Get an online appointment thru the Philippine Embassy website. CLICK HERE In order for you to go thru the process, you must provide a valid email address. If you are registered before click login or for a new applicant you can click the REGISTER icon. Fill up the entry in the registration.
STEP 2: A confirmation will be sent to your email. It is important to print it. You will present it once you enter the main entrance to the embassy.
STEP 3: Go to Philippine Embassy at least an hour before your appointment. "The earlier, the better" will not be a guarantee that you will be accommodated soon. So just be at the embassy at least 30 minutes to an hour. A reminder that a photocopier will not be always available at the site. Prepare a copy of the first page of your passport at least 2 copies. Once you enter the Embassy, get a queue number at the information area. All passport applicants will also be required to register at the Absentee Voters counter. If you are a voter from the recent 2106 Presidential election, you may check and get your voter's ID. This is how it looks like.

STEP 4: The waiting time varies from an hour to four hours. Wait for your turn as they call your number. Then proceed to the counter you are assigned. Just a few things to remember before they take your passport photo. No earrings should be worn during the shoot. No to a big smile, though you are allowed to show your teeth. Remember this will be your photo on your passport for ten years.
STEP 5: PAYMENT- After the encoding, the receipt will be given and you can proceed to pay 240 SR at the cashier. The same price you pay for five years validity passport before, sweet isn't. Usually, you will wait for 345- 60 days before you get your new passport.
Getting a passport in the Philippines is one of the slowest processes. Thousands or even millions of Filipinos want to have a passport but cannot be accommodated even in online appointment since it is always fully booked.
But the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) is doing its best to shorten the process, especially for the Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) who are considered to be "Modern Day Heroes" of the country as their remittances keep our economy afloat.
If you are OFW who needs to renew a passport, don't your know that online appointment slot is no longer needed in DFA-Ortigas? This is after the DFA establish an express lane exclusively for OFWs.
To benefit the express lane, aside from common requirements needed in passport application or for renewal, just bring three additional requirements;
1. Job Contract
2. Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) or IDOLE
3. Plane Ticket
The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) National Capital Region-Central, located at Robinson’s Galleria in Ortigas, has 400 slots for OFWs per day.
But since it is just a 400 slots a day, you have to be there as early as 4:00 am or 5:00 am to get one.
However, OFW passport applicants were also assured that they will be entertained at the satellite office following the said time schedule, even if mall hours start at 10:00 am.
In 2016, the Philippine Information Agency (PIA) wrote that
"OFWs with complete documents and arrive at the satellite office before 12:00 noon, can have their passport renewal processed on the same day."
It added that OFW passport applicants were also assured that they will be entertained at the satellite office following the said time schedule, even if mall hours start at 10:00 am.
However, this 2017, there are OFWs who disprove that claim that passport can be released within a day.
It says that even if you are OFW, arrived very early and get in 400 slots allotted, your passport will be released, seven days the shortest.

Also, there is an OFW Express Lane in every passport processing center of DFA but if you cannot see one in your area, you may approach any passport processing officer with your requirement need and explain to them that you are an OFW.
However, OFWs has no discount in passport fees and still need to pay the following;
For First-time passport applicants: Regular Processing (15 working days): P950.00 Express Processing (7 working days): P1,200.00
For Renewal of passport applicants: Regular Processing (15 working days): P950.00 Express Processing (7 working days): P1,200.00
