'Di bakunado, 'di na makag-proseso ng passport sa mga malls at consular offices ng DFA





MANILA, Philippines — NAGLABAS ngayon ng abiso ang Department of Foreign Affairs o DFA na hindi na tatanggapin sa kanilang mga consular offices at off-site mall passport services na nasa Alert Level 3 areas ang mga hindi pa bakunado laban sa Covid-19.

Sa advisory, nilinaw ng DFA na ang pagbabawal sa pagpasok ng mga hindi pa nabakunahan laban sa Covid-19 ay ipinatutupad ng mga shopping malls kung nasaan ang kanilang consular offices at Temporary Off-Site Passport Services at TOPS.

“The [DFA]…informs the public that its Consular Offices (COs) and [TOPS] located in malls in areas where at least Alert Level 3 is raised will not be able to accommodate unvaccinated individuals, including minors, due to the restrictions imposed by their host malls barring the entry of unvaccinated persons,” paliwanag ng DFA.

“Consular Offices are unable to override the host malls’ security and health protocols,” dagdag pa nito.

Pinayuhan naman ng DFA ang mga hindi pa bakunadong mga aplikante kasama na ang mga minor de edad na i-check muna ang regulations ng mga malls kung saan naroon ang kanilang opisina bago pumunta para sa kanilang appointments.

Maaari naman umanong i-reschedule ng mga apektadong aplikante ang kanilang appointment sakaling maging fully-vaccinated na laban sa Covid-19 o “after malls and local government units have lifted the entry restriction on unvaccinated persons.”

“The Department requests the public’s cooperation as it strives to deliver passport services to the public while ensuring the public’s safety and health amidst the ongoing pandemic,” pahayag ng DFA.

Matatandaan na isinailalim ng gobyerno sa mas istriktong Alert Level 3 hanggang Enero 3 ang Metro Manila dahil sa labis na pagtaas ng bagong kaso ng Covid-19.

Maliban sa Metro Manila, nasa Alert Level 3 din simula Enero 5 ang mga probinsiya ng Bulacan, Cavite, at Rizal na tatagal din hanggang Enero 15.

Nananatili naman sa Alert Level 2 ang natitirang bahagi ng bansa.

Phil ID, tinatanggap na ng DFA bilang valid ID sa passport application






MANILA, Philippines — INANUNSYO na ng Department of Foreign Affairs o DFA na simula Hunyo 7, 2021, maaari nang gamitin sa pagkuha ng passport at iba pang consular service-related transactions ang Philippine Identification o PhilID card.

Ayon sa DFA, isang valid at government issued ID ang PhilID na maaaring i-presenta sa pagkuha ng passport at iba pang serbisyo sa DFA.
Maliban sa PhilID, maaari ding mag-presenta ng isa sa mga sumusunod bilang valid ID ang mga kukuha ng passport sa nabanggit na ahensiya.
  • Social Security System (SSS) / Government Service Insurance System (GSIS) Unified Multi-Purpose Identification (UMID) Card
  • Land Transportation Office (LTO) Driver’s License. Student Permit may be accepted if in card format
  • Professional Regulatory Commission (PRC) ID
  • Overseas Workers Welfare Administration (OWWA) / Integrated Department of Labor and Employment (iDOLE) card
  • Commission on Elections (COMELEC) Voter's ID or Voter's Certification from the Election Officer with Dry Seal
  • Philippine National Police (PNP) Firearms License
  • Senior Citizen ID
  • Airman License (issued August 2016 onwards)
  • Philippine Postal ID (issued November 2016 onwards)
  • School ID (if applicable)
  • Current Valid ePassport (For Renewal of ePassport)
  • For applicants based overseas, they may use their host government issued IDs showing their Philippine citizenship. (Example: Residence Card)

Samantala, nakatakda namang buksan ng Philippine Statistics Authority o PSA ang mall-based registration para sa Philippine Identification System o PhilSys.

Ayon sa PSA, partner na ng mga ito ang Robinsons Corporation para sa ikalawang bahagi ng PhilSys registration process sa mga malls.

Dahil dito, magbubukas ang PSA ng PhilSys registration centers sa Robinsons mall branches sa buong bansa.


Sinabi naman ni PSA Undersecretary Dennis Mapa na mapapalawak ng kanilang partnership ang rehistration kung saan mas maraming Filipino ang maaabot ng PhilSys.

"This is a big opportunity for our kababayans to have a valid proof of identity that they can use in their daily lives and later, to enroll them in banking services,”

Saan ba maaaring gamitin ang Phil ID?

Ayon sa Philippine Statistics Authority o PSA, ang PSA ay maaaring gamitin sa mga sumusunod:
  • Para sa government transactions, maaari itong gamitin sa pag-apply para sa social and welfare benefits gaya na lamang ng mga inaalok ng GSIS, SSS, PhilHealht, HDMF o Pag-IBIG Fund at iba pang government agencies.
  • Maaari din itong gamitin sa pag-a-apply ng passport at drive'rs license application, at tax-related transactions.
  • Maaari din itong i-presenta bilang proof of identity para sa pagpa-admit sa ospital o sa alinmang government hospital, health center at iba pang related institutions.
  • Para sa private transactions, ang Phil ID ay maaaring gamitin para sa bank transactions gaya ng pagbubukas ng account sa bangko.

Applying or Renewing for Passport? Check the Valid ID's Accepted by DFA






Whether you are planning to work or travel abroad, a valid Philippine passport is one of the most important things you must have because, without it, you can't leave the country.

Applying for a Philippine passport is now easy with more online appointment slots available and a simplified process. In fact, you can apply for passport hassle-free if you study the process first and complete the requirements needed before proceeding to the Department of Foreign Affairs. 

One of the most important requirements in the process is a valid identification card or ID. But remember that not all valid IDs are accepted in the DFA.

 So if you are planning to apply or renew your passport, the Department of Foreign Affairs accepts at least one of the following valid IDs with one photocopy.

  • Social Security System card
  • Government Service Insurance System card
  • Unified Multi-Purpose Identification card
  • Land Transportation Office driver’s License (student permits will be accepted if in card format)
  • Professional Regulatory Commission ID
  • Overseas Workers Welfare Administration e-card

Aside from the above mentioned IDs, the DFA is also accepting postal ID as a valid recognized ID for passport application. The acceptance of postal ID started last August 1, 2019. The Postal ID presented must be valid during the time of the passport application. Valid Postal IDs are those that were issued starting November 2016.

The DFA clarifies that the following IDs are not accepted as valid IDs in passport processing.

  • PAG-IBIG ID

Postal ID is Now Accepted for Philippine Passport Application




The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) announced that starting August 1, 2019, it will accept postal IDs as a valid and recognized ID for passport applications.

Earlier the DFA and the Philippine Postal Corporation (PHLpost) signed a memorandum of agreement to provide the DFA access to the Postal ID Online Verification System (POVS)

According to PHLPost information officer Alvin Fidelson, the use of postal IDs was pushed back as its online verification system was not yet ready. The development of the verification system was completed in 2019, he added.

Fidelson explained that the web-based POVS will be used to verify the authenticity of postal IDs presented to the DFA. The verification system seeks to counter check counterfeit cards and quickly verify IDs.

The postal ID is one of the easiest ID to process in the Philippine due to its few requirements. All you need is proof of your identity.

You Can Now Have Your Passport in 6 Days!


In just six working days, you can now have your passport processed starting October 1, 2018. This is a good news from the Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA). In his statement on the 73rd Session of the United Nation General Assembly, he said, this is one of their promise to President Duterte and to all Filipinos that they will give work hard for providing fast, efficient and secure passport services. The six working days passport processing will start on Monday, October 1, 2018. DFA Consular Office — Metro Manila Regular processing fee — P950 for 12 working days instead of 15 working days Express processing fee —P1,200 for six days from seven days Outside Metro Manila Regular processing fee —P950 for 12 working days instead of 20 Express processing fee —P1,200 for seven days from 10 days Aside from this, the DFA is now working on reducing waiting time for passport applications at Philippine Embassies and Consulates General around the world from the current two months period. Waiting time for applicants in securing online appointment slots is also shortened within at least two-weeks from two or three months last year. According to Cayetano, this is the result of reforms that have been implemented since last year. These include the following; E-payment system An opening of at least 10,000 slots at 12 noon and 9 pm, Monday to Saturday except holiday. Under this basic bank account, Filipinos can save, borrow, invest and buy insurance policies without the burden of having to provide documentary requirements or even a minimum deposit maintaining balance. “Ownership of an account provides Filipinos the tool to save and transact money in a safe, convenient and affordable manner,” the central bank said in a statement, explaining the new policy. “It can unlock access to a wider range of financial services to meet their various needs, including credit, insurance, and investments.” The BSP added that banks can customize a basic deposit account product to serve wider markets and harness technological innovations to attract more clients.

 Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) that abandons his wife and children in the Philippines is not a new story to all of us. But as the one who is being left behind with children to raise up, what should you do? Husbands are bound by law to give financial support to his family especially his children. According to the Family Code of the Philippines, wife and her children should receive financial support including sustenance, dwelling, clothing, medical attendance, education, transportation, etc. On the other hand, Anti-Violence against Women and Their Children Act of 2004 Section 5 (e) states that depriving the woman and her children of financial support legally due her or her family is a crime punishable by time in jail and a fine of no less than P100,000. Aside from this, it is also a crime that is punishable by law to deliberately provide the woman's children insufficient financial support. Who Can File For A Financial Support? The victim can apply directly. If the applicant is not the victim then an affidavit of the applicant should be presented. The affidavit should include the circumstances of abuse suffered by the victim and the circumstances of consent given by the victim for filling the application. How to file? A wife can ask for support in writing, and it should be signed and verified under oath. In your application, you may be asked the following: You and your husband’s names and addresses Description of relationship Statement of the circumstance of the abuse (including abandonment and no provision of support) and a description of the reliefs requested: Request for counsel and reasons for such Request for waiver of application fees for hearing and An attestation that there is no pending application for a protection order in another court. Where to apply? An applicant can apply to any regional, metropolitan, municipal and municipal circuit trial courts with territorial jurisdiction over the place where the woman lives. How much can financial support be received? The amount of support will be deduced from the needs of the woman and children and the means of the husband. This amount can be reduced or increased also depending on the same variables. While the case is being heard in court, the wife can already receive some financial support by asking for pendent lite. The husband should send an allowance within the first five days of every month. What if the husband refuses to communicate?
