Among the herbal plants, Vitex Negundo or Lagundi is one of the  medicinal plants recognized by The Department of Health in the Philippines. Studies show that lagundi contains chrysoplenol D that relaxes the muscles and has anti-histamine properties. It also contains isoorientin, casticin, luteolin-7-0-glucoside and other things that release antihistamine effect.it also suppress leukotriene,a vital property that prevents asthma. Every part of this plant like the leaves, roots, flowers and the seeds can be used as a medicine.
