Mufrej Al Haqabani,the Minister of Labor and Social Development in the Kingdom of Saudi Arabia said that Saudi Arabia encourages Filipino workers to continue working in the Kingdom because they are needed there and that Saudi Arabia is still a good place for the expats to work and assures that the Saudi Oger crisis is just an isolated case.
A talk between Philippine Labor Secretary Silvestre bello III and Al Haqabani has taken place and focused on resolving the problems of stranded Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs).During the talk,Bello informed Al Haqabani thet the Philippine President Rodrigo Duterte wants to visit KSA as soon as possible to personally thank the Custodian of the Two Holy Mosques King Salman for extending help for the distressed OFWs.
Philippine delegation includes undersecretaries Vilma Cabrera(DSWD),Danilo Lagunsad III (DOE),Jesus Yabes (DFA),Congressman Aniceto Bertiz,Dr. Romeo Bituin (DOH),Admin Hans Cacdac (POEA),Francisco Calatrava(PAO) and Labatt Resty S.M. dela Fuente.

“Under the royal decree, the travel documents of those who want to go home will be processed. They won’t have to pay anything. Their tickets will be free,” said Iric Arribas,Philippine Consul General.
He also added that the Kingdom will help those who doesn't want to be repatriated by facilitating their transfer to other companies.An online system has been set up for the OFWs to send their bio-data to local companies if they still wish to work in the Kingdom.

The estimated number of the OFWs deployed throughout the world is 10 Million,1.8 Million of which are based in Saudi Arabia.
