LTFRB "OPLAN SUPLADO" TO BE IMPLEMENTED EFFECTIVE TODAY

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board warns taxi drivers who will refuse to convey passengers or those who do not use taxi meters but set a contract instead will face heavy penalties that may include cancellation of franchise. The LTFRB will implement "Oplan Suplado" starting today, which aims to reprimand abusive taxi drivers who violate franchising laws like refusing to convey passenger, non-usage of taxi meters or non-issuance of taxi receipts. Complaints from taxi commuters has been flooding LTFRB about abusive taxi drivers who would not agree to give them a ride if their destination is near, or had to agree for a certain contract first before they can take a ride. These incidents usually happen during holiday season and the prompt implementation of "Oplan Suplado" will be a great help for the commuters. ©2016 THOUGHTSKOTO

Chinese embassy officials also mentioned that improving ties with the leadership of President Rodrigo Duterte has paved the way for the new policy to materialize. There is presently a strict work visa system for foreign workers who want to enter mainland China. But according Usec. Say, China is serious about the proposal. Philippine Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello said an estimated 200,000 Filipino domestic helpers are presently working illegally in China. With a great demand for skilled domestic workers, Filipino OFWs would have an option to apply using legal processes on their desired higher salary for their sector. Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates Will Introduce Tax?

In a report from The Times, and UK's Independent News, starting 2018, the GCC countries will introduce value added tax or VAT to the general public.

Said Times: "Six Gulf states have said they will tax their citizens for the first time in a radical policy shift.
The Gulf Cooperation Council (GCC) - a loose federation of Saudi Arabia, Kuwait, Bahrain, Oman, Qatar and the United Arab Emirates - has agreed to introduce VAT following costly military campaigns and a drop in global oil prices.
Saudi Arabia has withdrawn tens of billions of dollars from global investment funds in an attempt to reduce its budget deficit."
Oil prices have dropped to $40 a barrel and continued to go down to as low as $35 a barrel since last week - the lowest since the financial crisis.
The GCC council announced a target to introduce VAT over the next three years - 2018.  Healthcare, education, social services and 94 food items will be excluded.Taxation is considered an alternative source of income for Gulf states hoping to move their economies and populations away from dependence on oil and gas.

To limit smuggling and competitiveness, the 6 countries aim to introduce the tax at the same time, reported by The Independent.

Even Some Taxi's Going to the Airport Are Part of the Tanim-Bala?

The Land Transportation Franchising and Regulatory Board (LTFRB) summoned the operator and the driver of the Virgil taxi with license plates UVK 190 that was allegedly involved in a laglag-bala case near the NAIA. LTFRB’s announcement was posted on the agency’s official Twitter account yesterday morning. LTFRB chairman Winston Ginez said that the board would issue a show cause order against the operator and driver of the taxi requiring them to appear at a hearing on Wednesday morning to give their side about the scam that has been circulating online.

Julius Niel Habana posted on Facebook some photos of the Vigil taxi on Oct. 30 warning OFWs who will be going abroad. Habana said that his seaman friend was on his way to the NAIA on Oct. 29 when he was almost victimized by the laglag-bala scam. He said his friend noticed that the taxi driver had placed something inside his bag.
Habana said the seaman sent him a text message asking for his advise and he told his friend to go to his place first before going to the airport. He said when his friend arrived he took the bag from the taxi and they found a .38 caliber bullet inside. He said that because his friend was catching an international flight, they did not file a complaint against the taxi driver and the seaman took another taxi to the airport. THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE RIDING THE TAXI

THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE RIDING THE TAXI AT NAIA, METRO MANILA AND ABROAD

THINGS TO REMEMBER BEFORE YOU RIDE A TAXI AT:

NAIA
