MANILA, Philippines — SA halip na sa Enero 2021 o sa susunod na buwan, minabuti ng Pag-IBIG Fund na i-urong sa Enero 2022 ang naka-ambang pagtaas ng monthly contributions ng mga miyembro nito.
Dahil sa pandemya, inihayag ng Pag-IBIG na ipapatupad nito ang pagtaas ng monthy contribution simula Enero 2022 mula P100 sa P150.
Ayon kay Department of Human Settlements and Urban Development Secretary Eduardo del Rosario, naintindihan umano ng ahensiya ang hirap ng buhay na nararanasa ngayon ng kanilang mga myembro at employers dahil sa pandemya.

"We know that many of our members and employers face financial challenges in the last few months because of the effects brought about by the pandemic to the economy,"
"After consulting with our stakeholders, we will no longer push through with the increase of the members’ monthly contributions next year."
Taong 2019 ng inaprobahan ng Pag-IBIG ang P50 na increase sa dekada nang P100 pesos na contribution rate upang ma-maintain ang mababang rates ng mga loan na ino-offer nito sa mga miyembro.
Simula 1980s pa umano ang P100 na monthly contributions.
“After consulting with our stakeholders, we will no longer push through with the increase of the members’ monthly contributions next year. This is in line with the efforts of the administration of President Duterte to alleviate the financial burden of our fellow Filipinos and help businesses recover,” dagdag pa ni del Rosario.

Kinumperma naman ni Pag-IBIG Fund Chief Executive Officer Acmad Rizaldy Moti na tumaas ang bilang ng mga nag-a-apply ng loan sa Pag-IBIG mula noong niluwagan na ang mga quarantine restrictions.
"Rest assured, our financial position remains strong and that has allowed us to defer the increase in our monthly contributions by year," ang naging pahayag ni Moti.
Ngayong taon, nasa P44.16 billion umano ang nailabas ng Pag-IBI para sa home loan habang P7.7 billion naman noon lamang buwan ng Oktubre.
