Unang Filipino Na Biktima ng Novel Corona Virus ay OFW Seaman

Ang crew member na naka-quarantine sa Japan ang kauna-unahang Pinoy na nagpositibo sa 2019 Novel #Coronavirus. #nCoV  A Filipino seafarer onboard a cruise ship in Japan was among the 10 people who tested positive for the novel coronavirus. Of the 10 infected people, 3 are Japanese, 3 are Chinese, two are Australians, one is a Filipino and another is an American, according to Carnival Japan Inc., the operator of the Diamond Princess. None are showing severe symptoms, and some have no symptoms at all, the ministry said. They were all hospitalized to prevent infections from spreading further. Philippine Embassy in Japan  "UPDATES REGARDING THE DIAMOND PRINCESS CRUISE SHIP DOCKED IN YOKOHAMA, JAPAN  The Philippine Embassy in Tokyo is closely and actively monitoring the welfare of Filipinos onboard the Diamond Princess cruise ship, which is currently docked off the port of Yokohama, Japan under a quarantine implemented by the Japanese Government.  The cruise ship was quarantined when one of the passengers tested positive for the novel corona virus (nCoV).  As of this time, 10 persons onboard the cruise ship, including one Filipino, have tested positive for the virus and will be transferred to a healthcare facility. The other passengers have been asked to remain onboard the ship for the required 14-day quarantine period.  There are 538 Filipinos onboard the ship.  The Embassy is in constant communication with the Filipinos remaining onboard and is closely coordinating with Japanese authorities to provide them all possible assistance. END
