Photoblog in Tagalog: HOW TO GET OEC FOR DIRECT HIRED OFWs

"Advertisements"

The new POEA and OWWA  rule on OEC issuance has caused confusion on the part of the OFWs. They do not have the right information of who needs to secure an OEC and who are exempted from securing OEC before leaving the country.
For OFWs who are on vacation and returning to the same employer , they dont need to secure an OEC. However for the direct hires, there are documents and processes they need to comply before they can work overseas.
We are going to discuss the procedures on how the non-OEC exempted OFWs or the direct hires can get their OEC.
They can do it at POEA main building in Ortigas.

1. Register at Window 6 (for skilled/professional workers) or Window 4 (for household workers) and take a number and wait for your turn to be called.

2. If your number is called, proceed to the designated counters (6,7 and 8 for skilled/professional workers. 13 and 14 for household workers).
Submit the original and photocopy  of the following documents for verification:
-valid pssport
-employment contract
-valid working visa
-2x2 photo

Wait for the documents to be returned to you along with medical and PDOS referral.

3. Attend the PDOS seminar and medical exam, whichever comes first.
a. Go to OWWA for the schedule and get a slot for the PDOS seminar. The slots are limited at times and you need to secure a slot. You need to pay P400.00 for the registration.

take your PDOS and CPDEP Certificates. For household workers you may need to submit more documents.

B. For the medical examination, go to an accredited clinic and take a medical exam.
It may cost around P2,500 or higher if there are other examination or procedure you needed to undertake, like dental  service etc.

c. For household workers, you may need to produce other requirements such as NCII certificate from TESDA  and others.
