You can now apply CHED scholarship for SY 2017-2018

Want's to pursue college but lacking financial resources, the Commission on Higher Education (CHED) is now accepting applications for scholarships under State Scholarship Program for the coming academic year 2017-2018.  Under the Scholarship Program, applicants may be qualified as a full scholar, partial scholar, or PESFA scholar. Full Scholarship (FS) - Intended for high school graduate whose General Weighted Average (GWA) is 90% or its equivalent in the third year and at least 90% in the first three grading periods of the fourth year, who will enroll in identified priority courses in duly authorized public or private (higher education institutions) HEIs. Full scholars will receive financial assistance worth PhP30,000. Partial Scholarship (PS) - Intended for high school graduates whose GWA is at least 85% or its equivalent and for graduating high school students whose GWA is at least 85% in the third year and at least 85% in the first three grading periods of the fourth year, who will enroll in identified priority courses in duly authorized public or private HEIs. Partial scholars are set to receive PhP15,000 per academic year. Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) - Intended for high school graduates whose GWA is at least 85% or its equivalent and for graduating high school student whose GWA is at least 85% in the first three grading periods of the fourth year, who will enroll in identified priority courses in duty authorized private HEIs. PESFA scholars will receive PhP15,000.

  • Private Education Student Financial Assistance (PESFA) - Intended for high school graduates whose GWA is at least 85% or its equivalent and for graduating high school student whose GWA is at least 85% in the first three grading periods of the fourth year, who will enroll in identified priority courses in duty authorized private HEIs.
PESFA scholars will receive PhP15,000.

To be accepted into the program, the applicant should either of the following;

1. high school graduate

2. candidate for graduation

3. earned unit in college
4. passer of Alternative Learning System or Philippine Educational Placement Test.

Since the program is merit-based, CHED will consider the academic performance of the applicant. Aside from this, he or she will have to submit the annual gross income of his or her parents/guardians.



4 easy steps to avail CHED scholarship program

I. Check if you are qualified and complete all the requirements

GENERAL QUALIFICATIONS

  • Must be a Filipino citizen
  • Must be a high school graduate; candidate for graduation; with earned units in college; passer of Alternative Learning System (ALS) / Philippine Educational Placement Test (PEPT)
  • Must have a combined annual gross income of parents/guardian not to exceed Three Hundred Thousand Pesos (PhP 300,000.00)
  • Must avail of only one CHED scholarship or financial assistance program; and
  • Must not be a graduate of any degree program.

DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS

For Incoming Freshmen:
  • For 4th year HS applicants – 3rd-year grade and first three grading periods of the fourth year
  • For high school graduates – Form 138
  • For Applicants with Earned Units in College – Certificate of grades in all subjects in completed semesters
Other Applicants
  • ALS – Accreditation and Equivalency Test Passer Certificate
  • PEPT – Certificate of Advancing to the Next Level
OTHER REQUIREMENTS

Any one of the following:

  • Latest Income Tax Return (ITR) of parents or guardian, Certificate of Tax Exemption from the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR)
  • Certificate of Indigency from their Barangay, Case Study from Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), or Affidavit of No Income.
  • For children of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFW) and seafarers, the latest copy of contract or proof of income may be considered
  • Certificate of good moral character from the last school attended.

II. Check if your course fits in the CHED Priority Courses. Qualified beneficiaries are DIRECTED to enroll in the following priority courses

III. If you are qualified, accomplish the CHED StuFAPs Application form. Download the form here.



IV. Submit the accomplished Application Form, together with pertinent documentary requirements, directly to the CHED Regional Office concerned. 
 All applications must be submitted to CHED. 

The deadline for submission of requirements is on April 28, 2017.

Pano po yung mga wala sa priority courses may pag-asa parin po kayang matanggap ?

Paano po pag incoming grade 12 ako tapos po kukuha ako ng scholarship na yan for my college? ano po yung requirements ko na grades? noong 4th yr and 3yr padin po ba? oo yung grades ko ng grade 11 ako?

Good day po! How about those students who just have known about this offered scholarship for students who have already earned units in College? Can we still have the chance to send our requirements?
