SOLDIERS BENEFIT UNDER DUTERTE ADMINISTRATION

  Starting this year, soldiers and police will get the partial adjustment in their salary until 2017 and by January 2018, take home pay will be doubled according to Department of Budget and Management (DBM).

This is after the proposal of Duterte administration for “substantial” increases in PNP and AFP allocations as part of the drive against crime, illegal drugs, and terrorism.
The President also vowed to  prioritize the welfare of the military in the ongoing campaign against terrorism and insurgency in the country.

At least 15 army soldiers were killed while many are wounded in the gun battle between Philippine Army and Abu Sayyaf in Patikul, Sulu lately.

In his visit to the wake of the slain soldiers, Duterte announced that except the salary increase, soldiers, and their families will also be covered by administration program from medical, health, social services, and education benefits for the soldiers and their families.

This includes:

-P250,000 for every soldier who dies in action during his term from Office of the President

- Slain soldiers will receive cash benefits from different org such as P100,000 from Phil. Army

-Families of the slain soldiers will be included in 4Ps



-Children of the slain soldiers will be provided with free education

-Families of the slain soldiers will also receive sack of rice monthly

-Widows to be employed in the government

- Senior Citizen parents of the slain/wounded soldiers can enroll in the Social Pension for Indigent Senior Citizen

-Wounded soldiers will receive assistance from P50,000 for 
minor wounds to P1000,000 for major injuries
Duterte also instructed the DSWD to assist immediately the families of slain or wounded in action soldiers with education, livelihood and employment opportunities through skills training for the dependents.

Last National Heroes Day, Duterte announced the release of P4.7 billion for the widows of soldiers and World War II veterans and retired soldiers. Of the P4.7 billion, P3.5 billion will go to the widows while P1.2 billion will go to AFP retirees. He also directed the AFP to facilitate the release of retirement and pension benefits of soldiers.
