As part of the month-long observance of the National Information and Communications Technology (ICT) Month this June, the Department of Information and Communications Technology (DICT) Regional Clusters have lined up free webinars aimed at preparing individuals in transitioning to the new normal.

Participants, such as teachers and students can learn more about and be trained in using ICT tools and solutions in transitioning to digital or virtual education. Meanwhile, government and private employees will be introduced to ways on how to maximize ICT at work. Webinars on cybersecurity, digital literacy, and “technopreneurship” will also be available to the general public.

“Each DICT regional cluster developed these webinars to serve the needs of the people in their area. We hope that these online trainings will help Filipinos in their transition to the new normal through the use of ICT,” DICT Secretary Gregorio B. Honasan II said. “This is part of DICT’s contribution in helping the government, through the Inter-Agency Task Force for the Management of emerging Infectious Diseases, in mitigating the effects of the COVID-19 pandemic.”

The webinars are in line with the National ICT Month’s theme “Maximizing ICT for the New Normal,” as well as the Department’s directive to itsICT Literacy and Competency Development Bureau (ILCDB), Cybersecurity Bureau, and Regional Offices to formulate and facilitate the conduct of webinars aimed at capacitating and upskilling the ICT competencies of teachers, administrators, educators, and students in different public and private educational institutions, and State Universities and Colleges (SUCs).

This National ICT month, the Department aims to promote the development and widespread use of emerging ICT tools and foster and accelerate the convergence of ICT and ICT-enabled facilities. The DICT also aims to promote the use of ICT for the enhancement of key public services, such as education, public health and safety, revenue generation, and socio-civic purposes. Furthermore, the DICT aims to promote digital literacy, ICT expertise, and knowledge-building among citizens to enable them to participate and compete in an evolving ICT age, as well as to encourage the use of ICT for the development and promotion of the country’s arts and culture, tourism, and national identity.

Libo-libong Filipino ang nag-enroll para sa libreng mga kurso na binibigay ng Technical Education and Skills Development Authority (TESDA) lalo na sa TESDA online program.

Matatandaang hinikayat ang publiko lalo na noong may mahigpit na lockdown na mag-aral sa mga programa ng TESDA para mas maraming matutunan at maging makabuluhan ang mga pagtatambay sa bahay.

Ayun pa sa TESDA, simula nitong Marso 16 hanggang March 29, merong kabuuang bilang na 19, 598 ang nagenroll sa iba't ibang training modules ng TESDA ONLINE Program o TOP

Nasa mahigit isanlibo ang nag-eenroll kada araw noong may mahigpit na quarantine at nasa 14,601 na nag-enroll ang mga baguhan samantalang ang iba pa ay mga datihan o nagbabalik para ituloy ang pag-aaral.

Training completers may go to any TESDA office closest to their area for assessment and certification once the enhanced community quarantine has been lifted should they wish to be certified as skilled learners. They can make use of the Certificate from TOP as a passport for National Competency Assessment.

“We assure our kababayan that this online program is a good channel for them to be productive inside their homes, while our front liners and our government continue to secure the communities from harm brought by COVID-19”, TESDA Director Lapeña said.

Libre ang Mag-aral Online sa TESDA at May Certificate Pa!

Ang TESDA ay may 68 online courses kagaya ng agriculture, automotive, electrical and electronics, entrepreneurship, human health or health care, heating, ventilation, air conditioning and refrigeration, information and communication technology, lifelong learning skills, maritime, processed food and beverages, social community development and other services, technical and vocational education and training, tourism, and 21st Century skills.

1. On the TESDA Online Program website click on the “Login” hyperlink.

2. After clicking the “Login” hyperlink, you will be taken to the login page. On the “Is this your first time here?” column, click on the “Create New Account” hyperlink.

3. Fill out the form, fields marked with asterisk (*) are mandatory. You cannot proceed with the registration unless you provide the information. After filling out the form, click on the “Create my new account” button.

4. After creating your account, a message will be sent to your email address. The email contains a link to activate your account, simply click on the link and your account will be activated.

HOW TO ENROLL IN AN ONLINE COURSE

1. Before you can enroll in a course, make sure that you had created an account in our TOP website.

2. Login to the TOP website using your registered username and password.

3. Once logged in, you will be taken to the TOP front page. The list of available courses is displayed on this page. Click on the link of the course that you want to enroll in.

4. Next, click on the link of the module you wish to take.

5. On the left side of the navigation pane, under the administration panel, click on the “Enrol me in this course” link.

6. A message box will appear asking if you really want to enroll in the module. Click on the “Yes” button to proceed.
