DFA PUBLIC ADVISORY: NO APPOINTMENT FOR OFWS AND SEAFARERS PASSPORT APPLICATION AT DFA ROBINSONS GALLERIA

According to the DFA PUBLIC ADVISORY, there is no need for OFWs and SEAFARERS TO SCHEDULE AN APPOINTMENT FOR PASSPORT APPLICATION AT DFA NCR CENTRAL (ROBINSONS GALLERIA)

The Department of Foreign Affairs (DFA) wishes to remind the public that Filipinos who are currently employed overseas (land-based OFWs) and seaman's or those working as seafarers DO NOT NEED TO SECURE an ONLINE APPOINTMENT in order to process their passport application.

Land-based OFWs and seafarers must file their passport application within 12 months of their arrical in the Philippines.

 

What are the REQUIREMENTS?

LAND-BASED OFWs

1) Philippine Passport

2. Proof of Overseas Employment

3. Valid Philippines Government Issued IDs
4. Bring NSO copied Birth Certificate in case they will ask for additional documents

SEAMAN/SEAFARERS

1) Philippine Passport
2. Valid Seaman's Book
3. SRC ID
4. Valid Philippine Government Issued IDs
5. Bring NSO copied Birth Certificate in case they will ask for additional documents

DFA NCR Central or Robinsons Galleria is the dedicated OFW PASSPORT RENEWAL CENTER. 
Processing applications for all OFW walk-in applicants is from 8:00AM to 12:00 Noon. Queuing before 6AM is unnecessary and is not advisable.

STEP BY STEP PROCESS HOW TO GET NEW AND RENEW PASSPORT BY APPOINTMENT and HOW MUCH

Do you have plans of working or travelling abroad? Then getting a passport is one of the essential things for you to do. If you're a first timer, the question is how? How to schedule an appointment? What are the requirements needed? How much do you have to pay? And how long do you have to wait to get your passport? I'll make it easy for you through this article.

How to schedule an appointment?

• First, you'll be needing a computer with an internet connection, web browser, a valid and working email address, a pdf reader and a printer.
• Then go to https://www.passport.gov.ph/
• Click set an appointment button.
• Choose a site location where you want to set an appointment.
• Choose a preferred date and time for your personal appearance
• Provide your personal information and contact number.
• Choose the type of application you wish to apply.

Senior citizens, infant and minor below 1 year old, person
with disability, and OFW (present an Overseas Employment Certificate) may proceed directly to any DFA office even without scheduling for an appointment online.

What are the requirements?

If you are done with your online appointment, here are the requirements you have to prepare if you are a new applicant, or if you're applying for a renewal.

General Requirements
(New Applicant)

• Personal appearance
• Confirmed appointment
• Duly accomplished application
  form - may be downloaded from DFA Website
• Birth Certificate (BC) in
  Security Paper (SECPA) issued by the Philippine Statistics Authority (PSA)
  or Certified True Copy (CTC) of BC issued by the Local Civil Registrar
  (LCR) and duly authenticated by PSA. Transcribed Birth Certificate from
  the LCR is required when entries in PSA Birth Certificate are blurred or
  unreadable. (REPORT OF BIRTH DULY AUTHENTICATED BY PSA IF BORN ABROAD)
• Valid picture IDs and supporting documents to prove identity.

General Requirements (Passport Renewal)

• Personal appearance
• Confirmed appointment
• Duly accomplished application form - may be downloaded from DFA Website
• Most recent expiring or expired passport
• Valid picture IDs and supporting documents to prove identity.

How much does a passport cost, and how long does it takes to get your passport?

After submission and verification of the requirements, you will have to pay for the processing and enrollment fee. You can choose either on paying for (1)Normal Processing fee which cost 950Php and you can get your passport after 25 days; or (2)Express Processing, if you wish to get your passport faster which cost 1200Php and you can get your passport after 15 days. 

DFA also has this Passport Delivery Service if you prefer not to return to DFA to pick-up your passport. They will deliver it right to your home, you just have to pay for 120Php for the delivery fee.
