A lifeless body of a former beauty pageant contestant was found in a muddy area in Island Garden City of Samal in Davao Del Norte.
The victim was identified by the authorities as Kimberly Autida, 19 years old, a student of University of Southeastern Philippines, Davao City Campus and a former candidate of a local beauty pageant "Mutya ng Samal" in 2016.
According to Police Senior Superintendent Marcial Magistrado, Davao del Norte police chief, investigation results revealed that her death was caused by repeated heavy blows on her lower abdomen that fatally damaged her internal organs particularly her liver which caused internal bleeding.
The medico legal findings also indicates that she could be possibly raped.
Further investigation is ongoing to determine the possibility that the victim was raped.
According to Police Superintendent Noel Asumen, Samal Police Chief, they requested the medico legal to test the victim for possible signs of rape as they found the victim's body naked.
The authorities arrested one of possible person of interest.
The suspect Elvin Juna, 20, is now presently detained at Samal police station.
The suspect, according to the victim's parents is a childhood friend of their daughter who shows interest on the victim ever since.
The police suspicion was made stronger when they found scratch marks all over his body and witnesses prove that he was wearing the jacket that was found in the crime scene before the incident happened.

Aside from Juna, there are two more suspects who are under investigation, one of whom they temporarily released.
