"No Homework On Weekends Policy" - Does it Apply to Private Schools?

In 2010, the Department of Education (DepEd) released a policy that restricts teachers to give their students homework on weekends to all public schools across the country.
Recently, a suggestion from parents came up that private schools be included in the "no weekend homework policy" by DepEd.
