Working Outside Under Extreme Heat Is Prohibited In KSA

During summer, workers are restricted to work under the scorching heat of the Middle Eastern sun which elevates up to more than fifty degrees Celsius. It could cook an egg if you place it directly on the asphalt during midday. Just imagine how this extreme temperature does to a person who is just standing by outside, more so if you are doing hard labor under extreme heat.

The ministry had also “launch inspection rounds to make sure employers comply with the guidelines.”   Spokesman Khaled Abalkhail said that those who will violate the regulation will be fined according to the magnitude of the offense.  The people are urged to report any violation to the ministry on its customer service number (19911). SR10,000 Fine For Employers Who Will Violate Employees' Leave Rule On Saudi Labor Law



A new revision on the table approved by Minister of Labor and Social Development Ali Al-Ghafees in view of the changes and developments in the labor market has set penalties for employers who will violate the rights of expat employees as stated in the Saudi Labor Law.  Several fine schedules has been set for employers such as follows:  —SR10,000 will be given to employers if they violate Labor Law provision with regard to the prescribed holidays of their employees.   —For employers who violate the revised Article 38 of the Labor Law by allowing a non-Saudi employee to work in a profession other than the one specified in his work permit a SR10,000 fine will be imposed.  —The same amount of fine (SR10,000) will be imposed if Article 15 is violated by not opening a file of the firm in the Labor Office or not updating the data of the firm at the office.
