A Filipino who went berserk and stabbed a Saudi manager and Pakistani employee to death and injured five more. They were working at the Farsan Island unit of Saudi Electricity Company (SEC) in the Southern Jizan province.
The attacker whose identity except for his nationality was not disclosed, armed with a knife and a fire extinguisher was also seriously injured when security forces fired at him.
According to reports, the Filipino chased the Pakistani worker Arbab Ahmed with a knife and fire extinguisher following an argument between them at their accommodation. The Pakistani ran to the nearby company office to find shelter and went to the office of their manager Naseebi, 56, a Saudi Arabian national. The manager tried to calm the attacker but he was stabbed by the suspect and sustained wounds on the chest and throat.
While the other workers attempted to stop the suspect, he released the contents of the fire extinguisher. The security personnel was prompted to fire at him according to the Saudi Gazette report. The suspect succumbed to his death due to fatal gunshot wounds.
In its twitter account, SEC offered condolences to the family members of the deceased manager and worker.
The Philippine Embassy In Saudi Arabia confirmed the report. The Philippine Consulate General said that the OFW was laid off from his job. The investigation is ongoing as the Consulate is getting in touch with the family of the OFW in the Philippines.
