The Social Security System (SSS) has always been a good companion for Filipinos including millions of overseas Filipino workers (OFW) deployed in different parts of the world. With its variety of services, it makes the lives of every citizen easier. Now with the launching of the SSS mobile app which allows people to access its services at the convenience of their own home, it can make their services more accessible to its members.

SSS members can now access their membership information in the comfort of their own home. All they need is a working smartphone or tablet with the new SSS Mobile application and an internet connection.
SSS President and Chief Executive Officer Emmanuel F. Dooc said the app was launched to provide members with more convenience in viewing their personal records and other important information without going personally to the SSS branches. Data charges may apply depending on the internet service provider while downloading and using the app is free of charge.
The SSS free Mobile App requires smartphones and tablets running on Android 4.4 KitKat or higher and IOS 8.0 or higher. It can be downloaded from the Google Play Store and Apple App Store.
To start using the new SSS Mobile application, mobile users should log in using their existing My.SSS account's user ID and password. Members who don't have a My.SSS account yet can use the SSS Mobile App in creating an account by selecting "Register" located at the Apps' sidebar.
The SSS Mobile App can be used to access the following:
-Members contribution status
-Sickness, maternity, disability, and retirement claim information
-Employees Compensation (EC) Medical status
-Salary loan application status and outstanding balance
-Location of SSS branch offices
-Documentary requirements for SSS membership, benefit claims application (i.e. sickness, maternity, EC Medical, disability, retirement, funeral, and death), personal data amendment, and UMID Card enrollment.

"Members need not worry on any possible data breach since the SSS Mobile" Dooc explained that members should not worry about the data breach because the app has its own security features and requires the entry of user ID and password.
However, there are still more to develop regarding the app according to those who tried downloading and using it.
