For a professional who spent their time and resources just to finish their studies, their priority is to earn and make profit out of their profession. But for a 30-year old Lithuanian doctor, fulfillment lies on helping others.
Dr. Viktorija Cirvinskaite, a missionary doctor left her country, her friends and everything she has in her own land to serve the poor people in the remote island of Talim. She said that a Filipino who served in the island whom she met in Lithuania five years ago inspired her to find Talim island and serve the people who are unfortunate to be lacking the services of a doctor. She promised to herself that after she graduated as a medical doctor, she will go to the island to help the people.

Now, Dr. Viktorija has been serving the people of Talim island for more than two years. The island has 34 barangays with 35,000 residents and for their medical needs, there is only one doctor and that is Dr. Viktorija.
The Lithuanian doctor doesn't expect anything in return. And what could these poor people could give if they can only pay for as much as P50.00?
To keep the mission going, the Tiberiade Community Foundation, where she belong, receive funds from donations of kind-hearthed people of Lithuania, Belgium and France, which keep her medical mission going.
“…it is my happiness to give my life to the people who are in a big need," she said. "I give something but I receive so much more…”, the doctor added..
Dr. Viktorija promised that she will be with the people of Talim Island as long a they need her.
