What does the Smart Table Do?
- Check your bags for three-minutes maximum time
- Identify suspected items inside your luggage without manually opening it.
Another feature of the smart system includes its capability to register the passenger’s document in less than five seconds through a scanner fitted in the device.
The smart table aims to increase efficiency, cut down on manual inspection time and swiftly bust illegal items.

Second, the Al Kashif - This is a modified golf cart used by Dubai Customs to foil drug smuggling attempts.
The cart, named ‘Al Kashif’, is equipped with 16 devices, making it capable of detecting various narcotics, inflammable and radioactive materials, and explosives. The eco-friendly golf buggy can also analyze medication samples in seven minutes.
Al Kashif, which is the first of its kind around the world, contains a security camera, monitor, wireless devices, fire extinguisher, iPad, a document verification device, Ion scan, helmet, and a cage for a Customs dog. It may be used as a mobile power generator for seven hours. It may also be used for external inspection by simply adding a solar panel, making it 100 per cent eco-friendly.

Dubai International Airport has a comprehensive network of closed-circuit television cameras (CCTV). It also uses biometric scanners to verify the identity of visa holders. In just one room Dubai Customs can monitor all part of the airport, including machines, number of gates, the flow of the passengers, operations, etc..
