This 2017, the number of jobless people in the world is expected to rise by 3.4 million.
But according to International Labor Organization, this is just a "modest" increase in global unemployment from 5.7 to 5.8 percent.
This year's forecast of unemployed people around the world will be 201.1 million with an additional rise of 2.7 million next year according to World Employment and Social Outlook – Trends 2017 (WESO).
Last year, there are 197.7 million jobless in the world.
Of the 201.1 million jobless in 2017, 16.1 million will come from developing countries, 147 million from emerging countries, and 37.9 million from developed countries.
However, the ILO reported that employment forecast for two countries in Southeast Asia will grow by 4.5 million in 2017.
These two countries are the Philippines and Indonesia.

In line with this, the Department of Labor and Employment is happy with the ILO report that states the increase of employment in the country in 2016.
With this, Director Nikki Tutay, of Bureau of Local Employment of DOLE said, that the government is serious to continue the programs that will give job opportunities to every Filipinos.

This year, including in the sector that will give many job opportunities are:
- Manufacturing-Agro-business
- Tourism
- IT business process management
- Retail (online retail)
- Transport Sector
The DOLE also invites job seeker to visit their online portal http://philjobnet.gov.ph/ to look for work.
Tutay added that DOLE targets to add 4.5 million jobs in the country within six years.
