Being an Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is never an easy task.
It is always accompanied with sacrifice and hardship. As if the OFWs does not have a choice, they will do it for the future of their family.
A facebook user by the name of Rachel Sarao, posted a video of an OFW named Mae Valencia Yecla as she cries for help.
The OFW, who is believed to be deployed in Saudi Arabia, is claiming to be suffering maltreatment. According to her, she has been forced to sleep in the bathroom and given only one meal per day by her employer.
The meal consists of few pieces of bread and cheese.
Feeling miserable and helpless, she asked the help of a friend, who also does not know how to help her. She posted her video on social media hoping that somebody will finally help her friend.
However, an unconfirmed comment on the facebook post claims that he talked to the Saudi based employer and it is not true that the OFW was being maltreated. In fact, according to him, the mobile phone and the internet connection she used was provided by her employer and the OFW was only suffering from homesickness.

Homesickness or maltreatment, OFW misery is real. And if you are not ready for it, do not wish to work abroad.

An OFW from Al Khobar, Saudi Arabia has been reunited with his family after years of misery abroad, scavenging garbage bins for food.
Ferdinand Acapulco, a construction worker in Al Khobar, was one of the distressed OFWs from a company in Saudi Arabia who suffered loses leaving the employees without salary and stucked in the desert without any assurance of when and how they can get their compensation and finally go home.
With the help of a Coco Martin and local TV station in the Philippines, Mr. Acapulco is now with his family and was able to be home to celebrate Christmas.

An OFW from Dubai who was so excited in meeting her boyfriend for the first time. In her mind, the much awaited moment is going to me a memorable one but later found out to be a horrible experience she will never forget in her entire life.
The OFW who has just arrived from Dubai, decided to spend an intimate time with her boyfriend in a hotel before going home and just like in a dream, she woke up and her boyfriend was nowhere to be found taking all her jewelries, cash and other valuables with him and all she can do is cry.

Trusting someone you hardly know can be perilous most of the time and sadly, some people must have to learn it the hard way.
