DOLE Assist WELL (Welfare, Employment, Livelihood, Legal) to Help Repatriated OFWs and Those Who Lost Their Jobs



Operation and services of DOLE Assist WELL (Welfare, Employment, Livelihood, Legalhas been intensified to help repatriated OFWs including those who lost their jobs caused by crisis in their host country.
Assist WELL is a program of DOLE that gives welfare, employment, legal and livelihood assistance to the OFWs.

The Assist Well Processing Center is handled by a management committee that ensures proper coordination and systematic way of delivering assistance for the OFWs being repatriated. It will serve them during normal situation or in times of need.        The new changes in the Assist WELL program includes building a database for the returning OFWs from the Middle East region.       The database  holds the records of all returning OFWs for the quick processing of the services and assistance they want to avail.         FREE SERVICES PROVIDED BY THE CENTER ARE THE FOLLOWING: 1. Stress debriefing oR counselling from OWWA. 2. Local employment referral or job placement from DOLE Bureau of Local Employment.  3. Overseas employment referral or placement from POEA and regional center or their extension offices.  4. Livelihood assistance from OWWA and NRCO. 5. Legal assistance or conciliation service from POEA, DOLE regional offices, and Regional Coordinating Council. 6. Competency assessment and trainings from TESDA.         The Center ensures that the OFW will be given complete services by means of systematic ways by which they determine the needs of the OFWs and to guide them in the particular service appropriate to them. What are the Welfare Assistance Services under Assist WELL?


1. Airport Assistance

  • Assistance to OFW-repatriates on airport procedures and formalities
  • Orientation on Assist WELL Program
  • Distribution of Info Kits
  • Provision of meals, if warranted

2. Temporary Shelter/Accommodation

  • Free accommodation for a limited duration at the OWWA Halfway Home for OFW-repatriates awaiting onward travel to provinces and without relatives in Metro Manila
  • Provision of free meals during their stay at Halfway Home

3. Transport Assistance to Residence

  • Provision of transport service (e.g. Bus, L300 Van) for OFWs residing within Metro Manila
  • Provision of bus fare or boat ticket for OFW-repatriates residing in provinces

4. Emergency Medical Assistance

  • Referral to airport clinic for OFW-repatriates who need immediate medical attention/assistance
  • Provision of ambulance for transport to hospitals within Metro Manila, if necessary

5. Stress Debriefing

  • Referral to accredited service providers for counseling of distressed OFWs
