OFWs In The UAE, Not Required To Submit Certificate Of Good Conduct Until June 2018


Filipinos in the UAE are not required to submit certificate of good conduct to apply for work visa. In a social media post, Consul General Paul Raymund Cortes said that on February 15, the UAE Ministry of Labor implemented a rule that Filipinos in the who are transferring for a new work visa in a new company will not be required to submit certificate of good conduct but it will be effective only until June 2018.  Cortes emphasized that until before June 2018, OFWs in the UAE is not required to obtain NBI clearances, but, starting June, they will be required to do so.  Submission of certificate of good conduct was made mandatory to all expats in the UAE who are applying for work visa effective February 4. All nationalities will not be allowed to apply for work visa without the said document.  Earlier this month, Consul General Cortes has released guidelines and instructions about the certificate of good conduct regarding on what it is and how to obtain it.  Consul General Cortes has been providing updates and advisories about UAE policies that will directly affect OFWs in the region through his social media page.
