China In Need of 100,000 English Teachers With A Salary of P78,000 a Month!

But because the Philippine government implemented a total ban on the deployment of Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) in Kuwait due to the death of seven Filipino maids, many of these workers are now starting going home.  Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) Chief Silvestre Bello III said, affected workers from Kuwait can go to other countries such as China and Russia.  He said China needs 100,000 English teachers with a monthly salary up to $1,500 or equivalent to P78,000. Aside from English teachers, China is also in need of English speaking household workers.
The Philippine government is currently looking for more alternative countries where Filipino workers from Kuwait can employ. According to government's data, there are 252,000 Filipinos working in Kuwait and many of these numbers are Filipino maids.

Bello is hopeful that bilateral agreement between China and the Philippines can be signed within the month or maybe next month.

Aside from China, Philippines is looking for similar agreement with Israel, Czechoslovakia, Germany, and Japan, so that hiring Filipino workers will be possible.
