Do you need a car but with a low budget? Well here is a good news for you! The Metro Manila Development Authority (MMDA) will have "one of the biggest" auction this month of August.
Interested bidders may choose from different kinds of public utility vehicles (PUVs), cars, vans, trucks, and FX. There's an Isuzu Crosswind on the list too and even Mercedes-Benz.
These are impounded vehicles that remain unclaimed since 2007.
This is a reminder too for owners of impounded vehicles in MMDA that they will have until August 29 to settle their fines.
According to MMDA Operations Supervisor Bong Nebrija, starting 2:00 pm on August 28, vehicles that will remain funclaimed by the owner will be auctioned.
Nebrija said, more than 150 cars will be auctioned. These are cars currently held in MMDA impounding centers in Ultra, Pasig, and Tumana, Marikina City.
The auction is a part of MMDA's effort to clear up the impounding sites and make a room for recently apprehended vehicles particularly those towed for illegal parking.
The vehicles will be sold on an “as is where is” basis, and the proceeds will go to the MMDA’s general fund.
Interested bidders should submit to the MMDA their letter of intent until August 9 and pay the nonrefundable fee of P1,000.
For those interested in the auction you may coordinate with MMDA Hotline Number 882-4151 to 77 local 1069/1067.
