In the United Arab Emirates, there are over 750,000 household workers mostly from the Philippines. Among 65% lives in Abu Dhabi, Dubai and, Sharjah.
UAE Law is going to provide special rights for the workers that have been already approved by the UAE Cabinet and signed to be a full pledged law by His Highness Shaikh Khalifa Bin Zayed Al Nahyan which includes 30 days annual leave with full pay, a weekly day off, daily rest at least 12 Hours, 8 hours of work and most important the right to keep original passport, Emirates ID or work permit.
The new Law also states that recruitment agencies have to ensure that domestic workers are made aware of the terms and conditions of their employment and their every right even before their deployment. This should include the nature of work, the workplace, the remuneration and the duration of daily and weekly off.
The previous categories of the domestic workers are
Maid, Household farmer, and Family Chauffeur.

Watchman
Security Guards
Household Shepherd
Family Chauffeur
Household Horse Groomer
Household Falcon Trainer
Domestic Labours
Housekeepers
Private Coach
Private Teacher

The Barangay Micro Business Enterprise Program (BMBE) or Republic Act No. 9178 of the Department of Trade and Industry (DTI) started way back 2002 which aims to help people to start their small business by providing them incentives and other benefits.
