VISA-FREE Entry To Taiwan For Filipinos Postponed



Based on previous announcements, starting June 1, 2017, Filipinos are supposed to enjoy a visa-free travel to Taiwan.


Taipei Economic and Cultural Office (TECO) announced today that the visa-free entry to Taiwan for Filipinos will be rescheduled to September 2017.


In a statement, they said that the scheduled date for the implementation of the visa-free entry,  "will be further announced in September or at other appropriate date this year."





Taiwan made an announcement earlier this year that they will give Filipinos a visa-free entry.





But in the advisory Tuesday, TECO made an announcement stating that the implementation of visa-free entry to the Taiwan for Filipinos was postponed "in order to complete relevant administrative procedures and inter-agency coordination."



Taiwan, is one of the favorite destination of Filipinos. The flight to Taiwan usually takes less than two hours. 

TECO earlier announced that they will  grant visa exemption for Philippine travelers, effective in June.

Last year, Taiwan already implemented a more relaxed visa requirements for Filipinos who have visa to enter any of the following countries: Australia, Canada, Japan, Korea, New Zealand, any of the Schengen countries, the United Kingdom, or the United States.
