“Please lang, huwag ninyo gawin ‘yan. Ang ating ID is something na dapat tinatago at hindi ine-expose kasi sa fraud,” she said in a Laging Handa public briefing.

“Huwag nila i-expose ang kanilang PhilSys ID para hindi ito maging pang-engganyo para doon sa mga gustong magpeke,” dagdag pa nito.

Nagbabala naman ang PSA sa mga nagpaplanong ma-meke ng PhilID na may mga personnel silang nakatutuk sa pagtukoy sa mga pekeng ID at posibleng masampahan ang mga gumagawa nito.

“Mayroon tayong karampatang penalties, charges.

What is the Difference: National ID Vs. OFW ID

To simplify the lives of the overseas Filipino workers (OFWs) and help them from the burden of queuing up for a number of documents needed in applying for overseas jobs and securing an Overseas Employment Certificate (OEC) from the Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) will issue an OFW ID also known as iDOLE card to all OFWs. Just recently, President Rodrigo Duterte signed a law that will enforce the implementation of the National ID system or the Philsys to all Filipino citizen which will help them in government and private transactions which require a valid identification card. Instead of presenting various kinds of IDs, Filipinos will just have to present a single national ID card.

Advertisement The OFW ID or the iDOLE card was a brainchild of DOLE and OWWA as a response to President Duterte's directive to help OFWs suffering from lengthy queues when securing an OEC they needed to allow them to work abroad. To be able to abolish OEC, they needed an alternative to keep track of OFWs deployed in different countries and at the same time, get rid of the OEC from the list of requirements the OFWs need to secure if they want to be able to work overseas. The initial distribution of the OFW ID started in December last year where about 3,000 OFWs already received their IDs. However, Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III has canceled its distribution due to an issue that some people want to earn money from it when the government has made a promise that it will be at no cost to the OFWs. The redistribution will be handled by OWWA and expected to commence in September this year according to Secretary Bello. He reiterated that the OFWs can get it absolutely at no cost to either the OFWs nor the government as they have promised. Where And How To Invest In Stocks In The Philippines Man Nabbed For "Sextortion" Of An OFW Railways have been always proven as the main factor in determining and assuring the fast flow of commerce and trade for ages. The economy and financial progress of countries all over the world greatly depend on how fast they can transport commodities and services throughout the country and its neighbors. Up to this present time, railways are still playing its great role in many progressive countries in different continents. In the Philippines, Duterte administration’s Build Build Build program referred to as the “golden age of infrastructure”, started construction of the nation’s first subway system including a number of railway projects. Advertisement These projects include Philippine National Railways (PNR) North Rail, PNR South Rail, the Luzon Spine Expressway and Mindanao Rail. The Build Build Build projects which include all of these has an estimated cost of P3.6 trillion which is expected to raise the contribution of infrastructure spending to GDP (gross domestic product) from 5.4 % in 2017 to 7.4% in 2022. PNR North Rail, which will spend about P225 million, extending to 100 kilometers connecting Manila’s Tutuban Station to Pampanga’s Clark International Airport. The Tutuban-Clark journey that will last for about 55 minutes is expected to service around 35,000 passengers everyday. PNR South Rail, which will connect Manila with the Bicol region, will be made of two stretches. The first stretch, from Manila to Los Banos - a distance of 75kms – will be able to accommodate up to 400,000 passengers daily upon its completion in 2022. The Luzon Spine Expressway is a more ambitious undertaking, for it will start in La Union and end in the Bicol region. It will encompass road projects that are already underway – including the project that will link NLEX (the North Luzon Expressway)and SLEX (the South Luzon Expressway). When the Luzon Spine Expressway is completed, travel time between La Union and the Bicol region will be reduced to under 12 hours. Ads Mindanao Rail will be a colossal project. For one thing, there is the distance that it will cover: the 2,000 miles between Tagum and the cities of Davao and Digos. For another, there is the project’s price tag: P32 billion. Expected to be completed in 2021, Mindanao Rail will be able to carry 117,000 passengers daily. The travel time between Tagum and Digos will be reduced to just an hour. These railways and road projects are ambitious but they will do much to increase for the economic development in their coverage areas. Mindanao Rail, in particular, is set to operate in an area that badly needs boosting economic activities. Ads However, it's completion target which is expected by 2021is nearly impossible and ambitious. Will the Build Build Build program be able to beat their due date? Only four years left in President Duterte’s term. Will the next president carry on with these projects? That is the big question now. The OFW ID or the iDOLE card was a brainchild of DOLE and OWWA as a response to President Duterte's directive to help OFWs suffering from lengthy queues when securing an OEC they needed to allow them to work abroad.

Meanwhile, the national ID system which is just recently signed into law by President Duterte is expected to start a year after it has become a law. Every Filipinos are encouraged to register to the PSA for the National ID although it is not mandatory.

Secretary Martin Andanar of Presidential Communications Operations Office said in an interview that it will not only make the lives of the common Filipinos easier, but it will also help the OFWs in their transactions while preparing the documents they need for applying for overseas jobs.

The OFW ID is exclusively issued to OFWs with existing overseas job contracts, while the National ID is for all Filipinos and foreigners who are currently living within the Philippine soil.
Both can be presented as a valid ID when doing transactions with government offices istead of many different IDs.
