The family of the OFW who died last November 2016 in Dubai, were dismayed when the supposed remains of the OFW came and it wasn't even her. An unknown remains, suspected to be an Indonesian national does not in anyway match with the identity of Febie Layug Guzman who died in Dubai due to heart attack. Eduardo, the husband, said the body is much smaller that his wife's build.
The funeral service said that the reference number and the name written on the casket is correct.However, when they opened it, they found a body of a different person and the family was sure that it was not Febie. The representative of the funeral service said that the casket was not allowed to be opened and the basis that it was the OFW was the informations on the papers which matched the informations written outside the box.

A representative of the DFA Assistant came and coordinated with the family but refused to give any statements in front of the camera but the report said that they are investigating the matter.
The family cried justice for the double grievance they went through due to the mistakenly switched remains of their loved one, reiterating that the authorities must be very sure in shipping and sending remains to the family as it is no joke for the feelings of the bereaved family.
The body will be preserved by placing dry ice all over and they will transfer it to a different funeral parlor with freezer so that the body will not be perished while waiting for the resolution from the authorities.
