Requirements and Procedure on How to Get DIGITAL TIN ID

Even if you are an Overseas Filipino workers or Filipino residing abroad, it is important to have Tax Identification Number (TIN). It is one of the important government identification cards (ID) that a Filipino must have.   It is also one of the easiest government ID to obtain because of the few requirements needed. One more good thing about TIN ID is that it will never expire. TIN ID can also be used in government and private transaction and serves as supporting documents too.   Here are the easy steps for the application.

Here are the easy steps for the application.





DOCUMENTARY REQUIREMENTS



NSO Certified Birth Certificate or any valid identification card that will show the applicant's complete name, address, birth date and signature, such as but not limited to:



1. Driver's License;



2. Integrated Bar of the Philippines (IBP) identification card;

3. Professional Regulation Commission (PRC) identification card; and/or 

4.Passport (also in case of non-resident alien not engage in trade or business) 

Marriage Contract if the applicant is a married woman









PROCEDURES



1. Go to the local BIR office near in your area

2. Bring the above-mentioned requirements

3. Fill up TIN application form (BIR Form 1904 – Application for Registration of One Time Taxpayer And Persons Registering Under EO 98)

(BIR Form 1901 - Application for Registration for Self-Employed and Mixed Income Individuals, Estates/Trusts)

(BIR Form 1902 - Application for Registration For Individuals Earning Purely Compensation Income, and Non-Resident Citizens / Resident Alien Employee)





4. Submit the application form together with other requirements

5. Wait for Tax Identification Number to be given and request for your TIN Card ID. 

The main purpose of TIN is for proper taxpayer identification. Every person will use only one TIN for their entire lives. Using more than one TIN is a criminal offense that is punishable by a fine and imprisonment. Issuance of a TIN is also free of charge.

You can also apply for TIN number online

1. Visit BIR's eREG website: https://ereg.bir.gov.ph/ereg/welcome.do

2. Scroll down and fill out the registration form. 

3. Make sure all details are correct and your email address is working. 

4. Click submit. 

5. Wait for BIR's email regarding your Tax Identification Number. 

Last year the Bureau of Internal Revenue (BIR) said they hope to update the Taxpayer Identification Number (TIN) card that will electronically store personal data.

BIR also said they want to issue TIN in a smart card and not in cardboard but currently not all BIR offices is issuing what they called digitized TIN.
