Some Women in Saudi Arabia Are Now Learning To Drive

Looks like women in Saudi Arabia is soo excited to drive that as early as now some of them are already practicing the skills.  Last September, King Salman issue a Royal Decree lifting a ban on female drivers in Saudi and women will be allowed to drive starting June 2018.

A week after, some husbands in Saudi are already teaching their wives to drive.

In his twitter account, Faisal BaDughaish shares a photo of her wife driving while he is seated in a passenger side.

The tweet read: “I started training my wife to drive in a private and secure area, safely and legally.”

Aside from Badughaish, another Saudi young man also shares a photo of her mother behind the steering wheel.

In his twitter account, Saudi Director Fahad al-Sharif said, “I expect my mother to be the first Saudi woman to drive through Al-Raq’ei checkpoint. Thanks to security men."

Inline with this news the Public Transport Authorities (PTA) assures that as soon as women are permitted to drive and start applying for driver's licenses, jobs in transportation will be open to them.

In his statement, he said, women will be able to drive school buses and microbuses. Women can work in car rental offices too.

The PTA added that they will no longer hire foreign female drivers because Saudization rate in the transport sector is quite low.
The Saudi Arabia is the only country in the world that ban women from driving. However, this will change when next year where women will be allowed behind the will. 

Even the Saudi ambassador to the United States reportedly said that Saudi women with a driver's license from any of the GCC states would be allowed to drive immediately in the country.
