All traffic violators are urged to go to the LTO office or to the office of Director Dennis Viaje ,Manila Traffic and Parking Bureau.
Director Viaje said that there are about 50,000 licenses which are not been redeemed by its owners and stored in their office for a long time.
Under the amnesty program which will run until the last part of 2019, traffic violators will only pay for the principal amount indicated on their Traffic Violation Receipt (TVR), regardless of all surcharges, penalties and interests even if they were not able to settle it for a long time.
As an example, a driver which had traffic violation with a principal amount of P2,000.00 and because the violator did not settled it on time, surcharges , penalties and interests overlapped and now he needs to pay over P139,000.00 for it.
Because of the existing amnesty in Manila, he will no longer needded to settle P139,000+, but instead, all he need to pay is the amount of P2,000.00 only.
