Unfortunately, the Philippines has no bilateral agreement and labor offices yet in the parts of Europe that are eager to hire OFWs.
Today, only a handful of OFWs were being sent through local recruitment agencies but the process takes time and is complicated.
The bilateral agreement between the Philippines and European countries regarding OFW welfare is the only thing lacking in order for these countries to hire OFWs.

Health workers are "in demand" in countries like Germany and Austria, while manufacturing jobs are available in the Czech Republic.
Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, said that discussions are being done regarding the opening of labor offices in Euro countries. Places with the most number of Filipinos will be the priority.

Lilac Center found out that there are illegal recruiters targeting OFWs in Taiwan and Malaysia because they do not need to go through POEA anymore. Aside from charging the applicants up to half a million pesos, chances are there are no actual jobs that await the victims.
