Thousands Of Europe Jobs Available For OFWs Soon

Good news! There are thousands of jobs 
waiting for OFWs in European countries. According to the Philippine Association of Service Exporters, Inc. (PASEI) and the research group Lilac Center for Public Interest, European employers themselves are finding ways to bring OFWs in their country.

Advertisement      Sponsored Links         Unfortunately, the Philippines has no bilateral agreement and labor offices yet in the parts of Europe that are eager to hire OFWs.     PASEI President Elsie Villa said that the Philippine government should assign POLO (Philippine Overseas Labor Office) officers, labor officers in these countries.     Today, only a handful of OFWs were being sent through local recruitment agencies but the process takes time and is complicated.      The bilateral agreement between the Philippines and European countries regarding OFW welfare is the only thing lacking in order for these countries to hire OFWs.   Poland needs foreign workers in the industries of manufacturing, agriculture, construction, information technology, banking, health and services like hotels and restaurants.  Health workers are "in demand" in countries like Germany and Austria, while manufacturing jobs are available in the Czech Republic.   Labor Secretary Silvestre Bello III, said that discussions are being done regarding the opening of labor offices in Euro countries. Places with the most number of Filipinos will be the priority.  Bello reiterated that it is very important that a bilateral agreement should be made first before starting to deploy OFWs in the region.  Meanwhile, OFWs are warned not to deal with the third country recruitment scheme. Lilac Center found out that there are illegal recruiters targeting  OFWs in Taiwan and Malaysia because they do not need to go through POEA anymore.
