Former OFW Is In Trouble For Arrears Of SSS Loans He Never Availed

A former Overseas Filipino Worker (OFW) is now worried about his loan with Social Security system(SSS), which he claims he never availed. SSS records show that from P15,000, his loans has now reached to a huge amount of over P100,000 from his alleged salary and calamity loan way back 1994. However, Efren Manoos, 60, said that he did not made any loans. Manoos is holding the documents that he was in Saudi Arabia when the said loans are made. According to SSS, they do not have the copy of the 1994 records which is vital in finding out whether Manoos encashed the cheques or there was a third party involved in claiming and encashment of the cheque. SSS said that the records they are holding are only the files which are ten years back from present. Manoos also travels back and forth from Manila to Laguna to follow up the status of his pension. Advertisement Due to the said circumstance, Manoos is on the brink of receiving lesser pension to settle the arrears from the loans he never made use of. Mr. Manoos still has a chance to get his full pension if he will appeal to the Social Security Commission, according to SSS Spokesperson Maria Luisa Sebastian.
