Dad's Hope To Attend Son's Graduation After 11 Years Separation

Construction worker Eusebio Ledesma Jr, worked in Manila to provide for his family has approached media personality Raffy Tulfo in a bid to ask for assistance. His dilemma is that he does not have enough money to travel back to his hometown in Catanduanes to attend his son, Jhumar's graduation. And the twist, he has never been with his family for eleven years! This is due to the fact that he'd rather send the meager salary to his family rather than spend it for bus tickets. In fact, Mang Eusebio had to advance one week salary from his employer just so he could pay his son's graduation fees. Jhumar is said to be sad due to the fact that his father will not be with them during this important occasion. Upon learning of his problem, Mr. Raffy Tulfo has immediately pledged to shoulder Mang Eusebio's transport costs. Not just that, Mr. Tulfo is giving Mang Eusebio P10,000 in cash, to provide for a graduation feast as well as extra spending money for his family. Everyone around were touched by Mang Eusebio's story, as they were crying while listening to his story. Upon learning that Jhumar's graduation is looming, Mr. Tulfo instructed his staff to assist Mang Eusebio to get to his hometown as fast as possible. He received assistance right up to the time he boarded the bus. Mang Eusebio arrived just in time. Calling from his studio in Quezon City, Mr. Raffy Tulfo spoke with Jhumar as graduation music started playing in background. The boy does not know that his father is already in attendance. The video later shows Mang Eusebio with his son Jhumar, meeting Mr. Raffy in his radio and tv program Raffy Tulfo in Action. He interviews the two and things becomes emotional as Jhumar expresses his gratitude to his parents for their big sacrifice just so he could finish college. The father and son share a loving hug as everyone looks on with tearful eyes. Mang Eusebio also thanked his son, for fulfilling his promise of finishing his studies, in the hope that he will help lift their family from a difficult life. Things became more cheerful later as Mr. Tulfo gave Jhumar a gift of cash money so he could buy new clothes for his Job interview. A happy ending indeed as we see photoes of Jhumar's graduation, spent with his whole family. Thank you Mr. Raffy Tulfo!

Bulacan Farmer's Son Going to Harvard

Two Filipino students from International School Manila - Philippine Scholarship Program are a part of a group of students who are heading to Ivy League schools in the US. Romnick Blanco will attend Harvard. Another scholar, Jessica Cuadro, is the daughter of a policeman. She is going to Columbia University. Romnick is the seventh of nine children of a farmer who works the land in the foothills of the Sierra Madre in Bulacan. His father, Renato works as a vegetable and rice farmer. Just getting to public school made him reliant on his own two legs. On Saturdays, he walked two hours each way in the other direction so that he could study English at the GreenEarth Heritage Foundation’s Learning Center. On one occasion, he nearly drowned when he crossed a river during the rainy season. The GreenEarth leaders were impressed by his determination that they encouraged Romnick to vie for a place at ISM under the Philippine Scholarship Program. He passed the qualifying exam with flying colors. Rom scored 99% in Reading, 94% in Vocabulary and 93% in Math Concepts, ranked among the top 10 of the batch. When ISM’s Director of Admissions and Advancement, Stephanie Hagedorn, asked Romnick’s father five years ago what he wishes for his son to gain from the scholarship, he answered, “I want the best for my son, but what is important is that he stays humble.” His five years at ISM culminated in a full scholarship to Harvard covering tuition, accommodation, flights and even clothing to help him through the New England winter. Romnick is proud of his origins, loves his family and community and wants to use his Harvard education to help him serve his country one day. ISM’s scholarship program has been helping Filipino children for more than fifty years, but Romnick has proven that he is one of the most worthy recipients of its help.

To the parents and parents-to-be, it is important that you guide your children starting at an early age. Most delinquent juveniles has no guidance coming from their parents or guardians, it's either their parents are busy they just don't care. Their perspective towards life was derived from a society that does not care for them and does not show any love or concern. They learn wrong perspective on sex, social relationships and even life itself. Parenting does not end with having a child. Good upbringing is more important than material things. The early childhood of your children could make or break them in the future. Equip them about life and you'll see them soar to success, making you a proud parent. Here is a list of things you need to teach your Children at an early age: Warn your Girl Child Never to sit on anyone's laps no matter the situation including uncles. Avoid Getting Dressed in front of your child once he/she is 2 years old. Learn to excuse them or yourself. Never allow any adult refer to your child as 'my wife' or 'my husband' Whenever your child goes out to play with friends make sure you look for a way to find out what kind of play they do, because young people now sexually abuse themselves. Never force your child to visit any adult he or she is not comfortable with and also be observant if your child becomes too fond of a particular adult. Once a very lively child suddenly becomes withdrawn you may need to patiently ask lots of questions from your child. 7. Carefully educate your grown ups about the right values of sex . If you don't, the society will teach them the wrong values. It is always advisable you go through any new Material like cartoons you just bought for them before they start seeing it themselves. Ensure you activate parental controls on your cable networks and advice your friends especially those your children visits often. Teach your 3 year olds how to wash their private parts properly and warn them never to allow anyone touch those areas and that includes you. Blacklist some materials/associates you think could threaten the sanity of your child (this includes music, movies and even friends and families). Let your children understand the value of standing out of the crowd. Once your child complains about a particular person, don't keep quiet about it. Take up the case and show them you can defend them.

FATHER GAVE THE BEST WEDDING ADVICE EVER TO DAUGHTER'S HUSBAND-TO-BE

Philip, I want to tell you a story and like all good stories it starts like this…Once upon a time, there was a FATHER and in case you can’t figure that out, that’s me. This FATHER had a wonderful little boy. He was very happy. Then one day he found out his wife was going to have another baby. So he prayed, “Lord if it’s Your will…make her a little girl.” And He did.
I was the first person to hold her in my arms. And I looked at her and said, “Lord make her like her mother.” And He did. She was loving and giving and so good and so kind. But then I realized I was getting left out. So I said, “Lord make her like me.” And He did. She could drive a truck and a tractor. She could load hay and chew tobacco. Do you realize what you’re getting? But at the same time she was opinionated, emotional and hard-headed.
So I said, “Lord that’s enough of that! Make her like YOU!” And He did.
He gave her the desire to serve people. She loves people. She gave her life to being a nurse. She’s brought people back from the dead. And she’s held the hand of people who have breathed their last breath. He gave her a heart for mission and she’s trekked all over the world: pushing canoes up swollen rivers, laid on the floor as bullets whizzed outside so she could tell people about Jesus.
But still something was missing. So I said, “Lord, make her happy.” AND SHE MET YOU. You see that look on her face? I never saw that, until she met you. And I’m grateful for that.
Today I’m giving you the best thing I have to give. And I just wanted you to know before I did that how hard me and God has worked to get her ready. So Philip, as I give her to you, I don’t think you’ll mind if I give you one more word of advice…Me and God have worked hard. Don’t screw it up!

THE INTERVIEW WITH GOD

THE INTERVIEW WITH GOD

Image by Greg Olsen "Lost and Found"

Original Entry: http://www.interviewwithgod.com/theoriginal.htm

I dreamed I had an interview with God.
“So you would like to interview me?” God asked
“If you have the time” I said. God smiled. “My time is eternity”
“What questions do you have in mind for me?”
“What surprises you most about humankind?...”
God answered...

“That they get bored with childhood. They rush to grow up and then long to be children again.”

“That they lose their health to make money and then lose their money to restore their health.”

“That by thinking anxiously about the future, they forget the present, such that they live in neither the present nor the future.”

“That they live as if they will never die, and die as if they had never lived.”

God’s hand took mine and we were silent for a while
And then I asked...
“As a parent, what are some of life’s lessons you want your children to learn?”
God replied with a smile

“To learn they cannot make anyone love them. What they can do is let themselves be loved.”

“To learn that it is not good to compare themselves to others.”

“To learn that a rich person is not one who has the most, but is one who needs the least.”

“To learn that it only takes a few seconds to open profound wounds in persons we love, and it takes many years to heal them.”

“To learn to forgive by practicing forgiveness.”

“To learn that there are persons who love them dearly, but simply do not know how to express or show their feelings.”

“To learn that two people can look at the same thing and see it differently.”

“To learn that it is not always enough that they be forgiven by others. But that they must forgive themselves.”

“And to learn that I am here always.”
