Ormillo is currently facing robbery charges before the Pasay City’s Prosecutor’s office. Prado, meanwhile, commended the airport officials for helping her retrieve her cash. a black backpack containing her cash and belongings is missing. She immediately ran towards to taxi but the driver sped away.

After reporting about the missing bag to the Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) Intelligence and Investigation Division (IID), the Airport Police were able to locate Ormillo somewhere in San Isidro, Rizal but he denied taking the bag but later admitted that he left the bag in a friend’s house.

Ormillo is now facing robbery charges before the Pasay City’s Prosecutor’s office.
Prado commended MIAA officials for helping her retrieve her belongings.

How to Deal With Taxi Scams in the Philippines?

The Manila International Airport Authority (MIAA) is planning to ban white taxis at the Ninoy Aquino International Airport (NAIA) following reports of abusive drivers demanding additional charges from their passengers.
MIAA general manager Ed Monreal said that they will implement the ban of white taxis should another complaint is filed and proven upon investigation, otherwise, the image and the reputation of the airport will be dragged down by them and the MIAA chief will not let it happen.
The vulnerable victims are Filipino passengers from provinces, including overseas Filipino workers (OFWs), and foreigners.

Advertisement Sponsored Links The statement was made by MIAA general manager Ed Monreal following an incident that a driver of a white taxi from NAIA tried to give a fixed charge to a vlogger who immediately posted her experience in social media and instantly went viral. In a video uploaded by Fil-Am vlogger Haley Dasovich, she saw that the driver did not turn the taximeter on and when she asked about it, the driver said that she either has to pay P500 or take another taxi. The taxi driver was arrested and the NAIA general manager was fuming in anger saying that the image of the airport, which they carefully building in good faith will be dragged down by the likes of these taxi drivers, thus, the management is mulling for the ban of white taxis within NAIA. The taxi was already impounded and authorities will invite Dasovich to file formal charges against Frederick Cayanan. LTFRB said that driver is facing revocation of driver's license. The authorities are also looking on the operator's franchise. To all the passengers who are experiencing the same scam, get the name of the taxi driver if possible and the name and plate number of the taxi. If you can secure a video or audio recording of your conversation with the taxi driver, it will be most helpful.
