Those who are not OFWs often think that being an OFW is a privileged job to earn unlimited flow of income. Pause for a moment and have a look at the many cases of maltreatment, illegal recruitment, and many other problems that OFWs are facing. Working overseas is no easier than being employed locally in the Philippines.
While the Philippine government benefits from the remittances of OFWs. There are numerous issues/problems they must also address. Is there someone in the government who really represents the OFWs? Someone who can truly understand how it is to be in their shoes? Someone who knows and can sympathize for their hardships and sacrifices.
