Husband Stabbed Filipina Wife To Death on Christmas Then Killed Himself Afterwards

Two dead bodies of asian couple was found dead at the Baldwin Park, Los Angeles, California on Christmas day. A middle aged man believed to stab his wife to death before killing himself was identified as Albert Villagomes Ong was convicted of domestic violence against his wife Blessel Ong eleven months ago but pleaded not guilty against it. Sarah Ardalani, spokeswoman for the Los Angeles County District Attorney’s Office, said the 49-year-old Ong was sentenced to three years probation and ordered to serve one day in jail as a condition of probation. Court records show Ong was supposed to return to Alhambra Superior Court on Jan. 2 to show the judge proof that he had enrolled in a domestic violence class. While Ardalani declined to name the victim in the Dec. 31, 2016 case, a court official said it was Ong’s wife. The Jan. 30 protective order was also modified Oct. 2 when Ong had completed 32 of the 52 sessions in a domestic violence class, according to the court official. Sheriff’s Homicide Lt. Rodney Moore, whose team is investigating the murder/suicide, said in an earlier interview that Ong had a history of domestic violence against the victim. Sponsored Links The coroner’s office did not release the name of Ong’s wife because her relatives have not been notified. Baldwin Park police found the woman and Ong dead on Tuesday afternoon after they went to the couple’s home in the 4200 block of Center Street to check on her. Police had been there the day before as well. Baldwin Park Police did not reveal details on why they were called to the Center Street home on Christmas day. Ong had also crossed paths with Baldwin Park police 12 days before the murder. Baldwin Park police Lt. Melissa Stehly confirmed Ong was arrested for a misdemeanor on Dec. 15. She declined to give details about the arrest and referred this paper to sheriff’s homicide detectives. But one of the detectives said they’re still looking at the documents related to the case. Many OFWs tend to spend and send more during the holidays as a way to get even for the lost time with the family together. The usual mind set that OFWs have plenty of money become more imminent during the season. Do not let the holidays stress you out. We provided tips you need in dealing with the holidays and getting out of this stressful situation victoriously. 1) Set your budget ahead of Christmas and make sure you stick to it! First and foremost before plunging into Christmas shopping, you must determine how much do you have and how much do you plan to spend. Know your limits and do not spend beyond your means unless you are planning to return to your host country with empty pockets, or worse, engulfed by neck deep debts. Do not pretend to be rich when you know it is far from reality. Spend wise and you will never regret it. 2) Make a list of people you plan to give gifts to. You don't need to give everyone a gift. Make a list. This will help you keep track of your spending and you won't miss out anyone that is closest to your heart. Being practical means a lot. Sponsored Links 3) Learn to say "no". Your kids has unlimited list of things they want, and because you want to make up with the times they spent without you beside them, you tend to cover it all up with material things that they want. unfortunately, it is not the wisest thing to do. The best way in handling it is to impose a one-gift policy. Let your family choose what they want for Christmas but you still need to check if it is within the budget. Explain the need to budget your spending to them. It also applies to relatives and friends. 4) Do not be deceived by freebies and "limited offers". Do not let these marketing strategy by malls and supermarkets get you. Things really aren't what they appear to be. Those "freebies" are there to make you spend more and you are actually paying for them. Stick to your list and go only for what you can afford. 5) Spend your Christmas bonus wisely. Did you received a Christmas bonus? Hold onto your horses and don't get too excited just yet. You can use it for something more practical than spending it all to make everyone "happy". You can use the money for paying off your debts or keep it as a savings that you can use should emergency comes. You will never know when do you need a contingency budget and it is better that you saved some amount for future use. This Christmas, OFW Told To Have Constant Communication With Their Children

For Overseas Filipino Workers (OFWs) working away from home or away from people you love is one of the saddest things to endure. The second one probably is celebrating Christmas in the foreign land without your family. Much worse if you are in the countries that do not celebrate Christmas like in the Middle East. But aside from OFWs, their family too especially children are experiencing the same feeling. Maybe not to the extent feeling of loneliness, but Christmas and New Year Celebration without a mother or a father are not complete.

For OFW children, a presence cannot be compensated with presents or gift. It means the physical presence of parents, especially during this celebration, is much important compared to what material things they received this Christmas.

According to Psychiatrist Dr. Babes Arcena, OFWs' children yearn for their parent's attention and presence. This is in spite of modern technologies we have to bridge the communication between OFWs and their children way back home. She added the feeling is different when you and your loved ones are physically together.

And because it is impossible for all OFWs to go home for Christmas, she said, OFWs should establish a constant communication with their children so that kids won't feel the loss.

She said if both parents are not around, the caregivers or guardian should take good care of the children and make them understand why their parents are working abroad.

She added that it is also important for the guardian to give genuine love and to OFWs children in the absence of parents.

The companies and corporations that responded to the bidding promised that they will release the balikbayan boxes to their rightful recipients free of charge or in a very less cost for the spirit Of Christmas.

Meanwhile, a new memorandum from the Bureau of Customs prohibits any customs employee to open the balikbayan boxes unless something suspicious has been found on the x-ray inspection. The opening of balikbayan boxes has been a big issue during the last administration, Commissioner Faeldon assured that it will never happen during his watch.

"These commodities, the balikbayan boxes of our relatives are close to our hearts, we will treat them  differently from the established procedure of the law," Faeldon said.
