The Golden Rule and The Platinum Rule

The Golden Rule

"Do unto others what you want others will do to you."

The Rule really concerns realizing that if you don't like something to happen to you, other people probably also would not like it happening to them either. It is being considerate of other peoples' feelings.

Cons:
But in the area of trying to please people by offering them something of interest or value, the Golden Rule often breaks down. People may not like what you like.

The Platinum Rule®

"Do unto others what they want others will do to them."

The Platinum Rule® accommodates the feelings of others. The focus of relationships shifts from "this is what I want, so I'll give everyone the same thing" to "let me first understand what they want and then I'll give it to them."

Applying the Platinum Rule® is much more valuable and useful to other people. "Do unto others as they would do unto themselves" means you have listened and observed what the other person wants or needs, and you then try to satisfy those needs.

I am Reading

Di man ako nakakapagcomment sa blog niyo, please know I am reading them. While the judges are visiting your blog, I don't want to make an impression to them or others kasi mga friends ko kayo lahat. Mahirap na baka mainfluence ang decision nila. I am reading your blogs. Updated ako, pero I am not making comments. Babawi ako when all this is done.

I am grateful for the many people supporting PEBA, and KABLOGS. Sometimes you have nothing left to say kaya what you will do is close you eyes, look up above, and whisper in your mind, "Thank you, God".

Anyway, akala ko mapupunta ako ng India to hire some Indian and Bangladesh people working sa planta namin, pero we postpone it ng boss ko, kasi sabi ko busy ako sa PEBA, hehehe. Of course di niya alam ang PEBA, or else baka malaman niya na hindi research ang ginagawa ko, kundi blogging, haha. Joke. Pero I'll be doing interviews and do some hiring works pag-uwi ko sa Pinas.

The bottling company we started five years ago with 6 Filipinos has grown to have at-least a million Saudi Riyal earning a month. Currently, we are expanding the size of the plant and capacity of the production to three times its current size.

-------------------

Natuloy na din ang bakasyon, at last after 3 years.

We hope to be flying home sa 23rd ng gabi by Cathay Pacific via Hongkong. Hope matuloy yung get together namin as we are planning to meet the nominees here in the Eastern Province before we leave. We are thinking to plan a trip via Qatar when we comeback. We'll see.

I am terribly busy. Namayat ako ng husto. Pero if work is pressures and stresses, PEBA is always excitements! So wait and see and tune in for more exciting PEBA when we come home with Modir NJ and others.

I've heard Bhing of Gumamela sa Paraiso is attending, so with Rio of Bizjoker, James of Poging Ilo(cano), Ruby of Travel Germany, Dexter of Pinoy OFW, and several others na hindi pa confirmed. Hope to meet you there, or your representatives. I guess ang mga nominees or their representatives will be given T-shirts and and gifts.

Anyways, kitakits tayo mga KABLOGS friends! Merry Christmas!

Pete, thank you sayo!

Hehe

Unang una ang kay Engr. NJ, the kind-guy-named Jethro ng Desert Aquaforce

As in tulo laway sa tawa!

(lol)

10 things about myself

1. I don't watch horror or mystery movies.

2. I love the music of Enya. It soothes the soul, it lifts the spirit.

3. Nabububuo po ang mga plano ko sa buhay, pati sa isusulat ko sa blog while driving or riding. call it inspirations, or personal revelation.

4. Computer addict ako. I am trying. Just can't help it.

Pwede ba, left and right na lang, mas madali saken.

7. I am craving lagi ng Lapaz Batchoy, or Buko ni Fruitas.

10. Can't live a day without Mrs. Thoughtskoto and Babytots. It's true.

Ayan natapos na din, hay...salamat po! Bow!

Sorry, Your Rantings Drowned

I won't be linking him here. He's stalking me.
I like him as a friend, but for some reason,
he simply doesn't have the capacity to accept and the powers to comprehend.

Yes, my friend. I was so busy the past few days with my projects, and I simply doesn't have the luxury of time to entertain your cheap shots and losers wail. I was raised by my goodly parents to love my fellow men, and to be kind, and was taught to understand and accept others differences.

I won't quote what you said, what you emailed and posted.
Your rantings and wailings, your running around wild like you been robbed are drowned by the many positive comments by those who are optimistic, and supportive to our cause.

Mrs. Thoughtskoto  asked me to break my silence regarding this and clarify the matter. Let me just keep it straight. I am not mad at you and your cohorts. This is democracy. Everybody is free, except here in Saudi, haha! :)

"THE JUDGES"

Please do not degrade the judges of our choosing. Their sacrifices and volunteer effort in judging is stressful, and yet without expecting anything in return they did what they were asked to do -to visit one by one the more than 20 nominees and read and judge the content of their blog. You can question the result, but never ever demean people. Everybody who participated in the contest should understand and respect the uniqueness of each blog. There will always be differences between bloggers and blogs. It doesn't mean that because you didn't land on the top 10, your blog is of lesser worth than the others. Every blog is unique, every blog has a strong point, some stronger than the others. Mrs. Thoughtskoto helped collate and finalize the ratings and commented how some missed it merely by points.

"NOT REALLY KNOWN BLOG"

I can accept that. We are really nothing in the blogosphere. We are just simple and quiet people, doing what we think is best and will cause happiness, writing what we think will inspire others, swimming in the oceans of  almost 20 million blogs. Our data's and metrics are nothing compared to you, but we didn't blog because we wanted to be rich, famous or gain glory. The adulation of the crowd will someday fade away when the fire is no more fanned by excitements and inspirations. But we are here to develop and build friendships, not make enemies.

"VERY RELIGIOUS BLOG"

I will take that as a compliment. Thank you.
I hope it is not true that my visitors are offended because of the religious theme and aggregators I posted in my sidebars. For the last couple of years I posted inspirational themes and messages. Never have I imposed my faith and belief to somebody, most especially in the net. I always subscribe to the belief that we are all free to worship and believe according to the dictates of our own conscience and let others do the same.

But I ask for civility and tolerance.
You can laugh at my grammars, and my postings but
NEVER EVER DEMEAN MY FAMILY AND MY PERSONAL BELIEF especially my religion.

Whatever you say or do, reflects the kind of person you are. Demeaning other people's most sacred and deeply held association, values and beliefs show the poor if not the lack of judgement on your side. Sorry to say that. Prove me it's wrong.

Sorry your rantings drowned. See the link below of some of the many people who commented about the blog awards.

Check How MUCH your BLOg WORTH?

Mine? Well, first and foremost Thoughtskoto is not for sale! haha.

But for the sake of blogging about it.

Check this out.

Thoughtskoto is not worth that much. But the content and the memories of this blog cannot be paid and cannot be sold even by the millions of dollars. Blogging is one way of leaving a Legacy. And legacy is not just money, most of the times, it is memories and goodness that will not and cannot be forgotten.

That's worth is almost my monthly salary. haha... and my Adsense? ow, for almost a year now, I'm stuck to 50$ but me and my wife will donate this to the Believe International.

Website Worth: $1,922.82
Daily Pageviews:
878
Daily Ads Revenue:
$2.63

Those relatively new sites cannot be determined but I use the Cubestat to determine my worth.

Cubestat is a free and perfect tool for website value calculation, estimations and information.

How does it work? you simply enter the domain url above, their unique algorithm will calculate and estimate the website worth, daily pageviews and daily ads revenue of the present domain.
Among the estimation it will show precise information available for the domain.

But wait a minute, how about this?

ANOTHER measuring tool as to how much is my blog's worth.
Inspired by Tristan Louis's research into the value of each link to Weblogs Inc, I've created this little applet using Technorati's API which computes and displays your blog's worth using the same link to dollar ratio as the AOL-Weblogs Inc deal.
My blog is worth $40,082.34.

Who is right? It does not matter. My blog is not for sale!

Thanksgiving and Birthday Reflections

Sometimes,
you are just so lucky that
Thanksgiving day happen also to be your birthday.
Double celebration, and a great saving since nobody will come to dine or celebrate with you coz everybody's busy with their own fiesta.
Alright, if you're extra thrifty,
why not come and dine to your friends houses,
schedule them one at a time
and you will be spoiled with all the delicious and yummy foods they prepared
 since it's your birthday!

You know I've been thinking about this the whole week.
It's great, sound and perfect tips.
The only thing is, I am not in the US.

So my wife is cooking some cakes,
brownies, pasta's and salads, and kafsa, and sago't gulaman...whew!
That's a lot, so come and celebrate Thanksgiving Day and my birthday with us!
You don't need to bring and give gifts, a simple greeting and a catching up about one's life will be enough.
And yes,
please
 don't ask for my age,
for cornucopia's sake
you're tempting me to lie! :-)

I would like to share the great ABE's words when proclaiming the Thanksgiving day every last day of November in the US.

" The year that is drawing toward its close has been filled with the blessings of fruitful fields and healthful skies. To these bounties, which are so constantly enjoyed that we are prone to forget the source from which they come, others have been added which are of so extraordinary a nature that they can not fail to penetrate and soften even the heart which is habitually insensible to the ever-watchful providence of Almighty God.

No human counsel hath devised nor hath any mortal hand worked out these great things. They are the gracious gifts of the Most High God, who, while dealing with us in anger for our sins, hath nevertheless remembered mercy.

It has seemed to me fit and proper that they should be solemnly, reverently, and gratefully acknowledged, as with one heart and one voice, by the whole American people. I do therefore invite my fellow-citizens in every part of the United States, and also those who are in foreign lands, to set apart and observe the last Thursday of November next as a day of thanksgiving and praise to our beneficent Father who dwelleth in the heavens. "

- Abraham Lincoln

This is eventually what you look like when you are scribbling keyboards and starting early and staying late at night in the computer. My wife's given me an eyeglasses gift, it is a computer protection glasses and at the same time, you'll just have to look at the sky on a clear noon day, and it will automatically change color turning from transparent to shady black that could protect your eyes to UV and sunlight. Cool huh!

I have made several list of HEROES and ANGELS several years before. The list eventually expands but I was not able to update it. Much of who I am today is because of these people, one way or another, in small and seemingly simple ways.

We have been touched by many along the way as we move on with our lives. In return, even without our notice, we may have made a difference in someone's lives for good.

I was telling my wife and my baby who was looking and seems to be listening intently when I made my small speech last night right after we prayed and retire for the night.

"You girls made my life so much happier, meaningful and better because you are there...I prayed for you, and I thank God for you..."
As I reflect my life for the past two years that I've been married, I know I am so much happier because of this two girls in my life. I also thanked the people that will be too many to mention for the support they extended to me, in my professional careers, my brothers and sisters in faith, my mentors, my fellow bloggers out there.

Just like a small and tiny pieces of sand that when mold will make a strong sand block that builds a house or a building, you are all part of my life that lives, that loves, that learns, and will leave a legacy through your goodness and charity.

I wish nothing for me and my family and for all of us, a trio blessing that I always pray in my heart.

A healthy living
A life full of joy, happiness and peace that we all dream of
and success in every good thing we aspire.

Happy Thanksgiving!
Happy Birthday to me!

Random Thoughts

I experienced a few minutes rain the other week, and to my surprise, after a couple of days, mushroom started sprouting around our plant vicinity.
You can see the yellowish-brownish Arabian desert sands covering the mushrooms. I've been here for five years, and it's my first time to witness  mushrooms in the midst of the desert. What does it tells us? What does it mean to me?

I am expecting a lot of changes in the Saudi weather and climate this coming month. I am still hoping snow will fall here in the Eastern province.

"Life is an eternal progression if you believe that . We are sent here to be tried, to be tested, to gain knowledge and experiences so when we come to the next stage of life, we are ready for it. Just like our small baby from the moment she was born, till the day she started saying 'papapapa' she progresses. Ironically we won't progress, and eventually succeed by holding on to things. We have to let go some things to pick up new things as we go along our journey."

"I have done some kindness to people, but my heart swells with gratitude for the people who have done so much good to me. In fact, there are many many people out there who have touched my life for good, and make me what and who I am now. I just realize that my gratitude is overwhelming towards them. I cannot stop saying thank you and how grateful I am for the things they have done. That's why the saying "IT'S BETTER TO GIVE THAN TO RECEIVE" is really TRUE. It's better to receive words of gratitude than to have a feeling of owe or debt to someone who have done favor. Of course, we can't do it, we have ask for help, we need others support from time to time. No man is an island here.

I was reading the BOM with my wife last night and we encounter the phrase in Moroni that says something like this;

"all things that cometh of God is good...
all things that are good cometh from God...
do good continually..."

I would like to leave you that message. How simple, and how true. May we all reflect this Thanksgiving week, some of the goodness we have done and some of the goodness others have done to us.
